    Team-building strategies without spending money.

At first I was just doing gold board over and over again. Then did domination to get some players and reward Kidd. Didn't get any cool pulls from domination but by the time I was done I had a good team and enough cards for reward Ray Allen. Kidd, Paul George, Klay, Aldridge, Marc Gasol and Cousins plus tons of other golds.

Now I'm hitting bad luck on the gold board. Either I go 9-1 and still don't get the gold or I do and it's Gordon Hayward or someone who doesn't sell for a lot. So I guess what I'm saying is that at this point I'm just trying to get amethysts. Are cousy and drexler still the only rewards for amethyst board? If so I'm probably just gonna stick to piling up MT. Anyone have any strategies for that besides the gold board? Or strategies for getting good cards in general?

I'm in same boat my team is alright and have no trouble winning just want one of these top purple card players, have worst pack opening luck so at this rate I would never get one of them.

Yeah I wasn't even gonna mention or ask about packs. I could probably spend all 200,000 I have and not get an amethyst. So what do you play when you hop on my team?

At this point I already got like 240 wins from gauntlet mode so got drexlar etc so just play the gold board in hope for a good badge like deadeye etc to sell, so the minute I get enough to buy a vip pack with MT. Don't really need anyone so stop caring just want a top notch card and know I could never save to 100k so packs would be my only chance.

Kidd and Pippen from domination and Drexler from Gauntlet are good Amethysts and they're free. I mean...if you want Curry or Lebron, stop buying packs, quick sell all your worthless cards, auction all the valuable cards you're not using and make sure you get fair market value for them (take the time to see what they sell for), play the gold board and keep earning and selling. It shouldn't take that long to get to 100-150k which will get you any current Amethyst on PS4. If you get a Deadeye badge that's 6k right there, get a gold +6 KD three point shoe that's 4-5k right there. Most people are sitting on more MT than they realize. And don't sell players between Thursday and Saturday when the new packs hit and the market is flooded. That's when you buy.

Start sniping. Replay the harder challenges with your best players. Win or lose, you get the VC for how well you do. Then with 5,000 MT or so in the bank, start sniping cheap players. Buy players at 500 MT, flip it for 750. Don't forget jerseys too. Sometimes I get a jersey for cheap and flip for 4X its worth in MT. Keep doing this until you can afford a player that you want. So far, your team looks pretty good. This is so you can build you player collection for more MT.

I just want to say....real talk....you have a better chance of sniping an amethyst than pulling one from a pack. and if you dont snipe one, every few days you should have enough saved up to buy one. I buy packs....with extra I have, but I dont recommend anyone buying packs AND EXPECTING to get a valuable card. dont do it to yourself.

Good advice everybody, thanks. I agree on the packs, just don't do it, they're not worth it. I think I'm gonna stick to the gold board for now. You get about 200 a game, plus the 50 and 100 mt cards, and the games go rather quick. If you're lucky enough to pull a Paul George that's a free 15k right there. I guess I was just getting frustrated because I've been having to go 10-0 to get the gold. I had another 9-1 where I didn't get it after I posted this last night. I wouldn't be surprised if it was rigged by 2k.

However, I don't like Drexler or Cousy. Drexler doesn't feel right because he doesn't play like I remember him in real life. Cousy has no badges, too small, and I can't shoot with him. I haven't got Pippen yet because I'm hoping they'll make it so you can pull good cards from beating the historic teams. Same with Cousy and Drexler I guess, I could get them, but I'm hoping they'll change the amethyst board rewards to something else.

                    I'm in the same boat.

I have all the golds I desire and a fun team I can compete with. My only desire is Amethyst cards, Hakeem specifically, but the variety at the top is not appealing to me at the moment.

I'm also considering adding LeBron but in the meantime I plan to build a Trailblazers lineup filled with Blazer career players.

I'm not gonna get caught up in the card hype. I also only have 80k MT and dudes like CP3 and Cousy in that bucket do not interest me.

That's good to know about Cousy, but I still think I'd rather wait to see if they change the amethyst board. Between Kidd and Westbrook and waiting for a Kevin Johnson, I don't think I'd use him.

How about "playing the auction house"? I see people talk about it all the time but I never see any solid strategies. I mean, if you can buy a card doesn't that mean that some people have seen it and are already not buying it at that price? Why would someone buy it when you put it back for more?

Re: Team-building strategies without spending money.

Here's my story so far... I started the game spending money and it was okay. I pulled a current steph curry and sold him off back because I tried using him in gauntlet I couldn't hit **** lol. So i made like 90 k with him. I wish I would've kept him or at least saved mt when the game came out and had a dynamic rating curry for cheap. But I worked my way to get the gold Ray Allen card and I stoped spending vc lol. I only spent my vc on some packs at least 300k vc. I got some good pulls when I looked for runes and got the ROTY packs and spent one 10 pack on vc and 2 10 packs with the mt I got for curry. I pulled KD, Vince, Elgin Baylor, and grant hill. Then I sold all of them and baught ROTY Jordan after they let people buy the pack for 30 days and he was cheap. I got him for about 20k mt. Then that's where I was like man I need some more players. So I started playing gauntlet and pulled duplicate Westbrook after my second game and got a duplicate melo after like my 5th game when I lost and gave me a free pull. And a couple of other 85+ players since playing and I'm at 123 wins. And I've been saving all the little mt I have and I've been getting jerseys and logos and courts for 250 to get my collection up. Now I'm at 834 cards I think with 10,000mt left and I'm thinking to sell my ROTY Jordan lol. But I'm gonna get 30k more at 850 and then if I can get 100 more cards for 250mt each that's 25,000 my I have to have at least or spend lol. It's hard to find jerseys now once you have most of them and i know I'd get 40k once I get 950. But after that idk lol It's been a grind these 2 months.

I'm at 1010 cards now and I've only spent money on VC one time. They had that two for one deal for VC, spent $9.99 and got 70,000 VC instead of the normal 35,000. That didn't even get me anybody good. I got most of my players by sniping and reselling stuff at the auction house and playing the challenges. For a game I got for free from reward points from my credit card, I think I got a very good collection of cards for the amount of money I spent, $10 bucks. I got a decent collection of gold players and was fortunate to snipe really excellent players, Hakeem Olajuwon and Dominique Wilkins. If you can put on a podcast or something, spend a few hours on the auction house, you could really build a great team and a nice collection.

Any advice on how exactly to use the auction house to get mt? I never see a card way below is value. Do you look for auctions that are about to end? Do you look for certain players? Any tips would help

Gold jerseys, courts and playbooks if you can snag them at 250 MT buy it now can always resell for double its value or more. Anything Warriors related can always go for a lot if you get it for cheap. I rely on snagging any gold jersey, court or playbooks for cheap to help double any MT I already have to use for sniping.
