I agree with that, but that's what ea is doing every week with roster updates.

Brock's play fake is really good. He gets the camera guy every week on play action, his PA rating deserves a big bump

Looks like we will not see a change in the ratings philosophy anytime soon.

They are making Cam Newton into something he is not, a great QB. Don't get me wrong he is one of the most dangerous weapons in the game and is a frontrunner for the MVP, but that is because of what he does to extend a play. 16th in the NFL in passing yards and 28th in completion % is not a 97 OVR QB with 88 accuracy.

His arm strength deserves to go down though. One of the biggest myths in football is the "Big QB, Big arm" assumption.

Obviously yards have nothing to do with his performance - he's in a run heavy offense. As far as accuracy, you can't cite completion percentage, there's an obvious bias in the stat for short passers and conservative offenses in general, which Cam is not in. Also he's probably been in the top 5 for best players for the past 6 weeks now. 97 is fair, especially with how well he's been grading in PFF's system (which madden uses to some extent) and the MVP likely coming his way

I am not sure who determines this top 5 for best players as each week you could pick one of about a dozen guys to receive that honor. You can't cite completion percentage for accuracy?? That is the whole point of completion percentage, it is a measure of a QB's accuracy. The only bias it has, is towards QB's who can complete passes. Let's compare him to the other 4 QB's from the top 5 rushing teams in the NFL, all teams that run a gameplan very similar to Carolina:

                1. R. Wilson - 68.8%
                2. T. Birdgewater - 65.3%
                3. T. Taylor - 63.5%
                4. J. Winston - 58.4%

Cam is a tremendous all around a weapon, but as an actual QB he is middle of the pack.

Okay, I think its a fact that shorter passes = higher completion percentage. Cam is going deep a ton, combine with the drops. I haven't seen nearly as many straight out bad passes from him this year.

Cam is tied for 13th in passing plays over 20 yards. He is tied for 11th in passing plays over 40 yards. Again he is middle of the pack.

If it wasn't for is inaccuracy in the Packer game, the Panthers should have won by 2 or 3 scores. In spite of all that, he is having a great year leading a team that is undefeated.

It's not just that game either. Houston, Seattle, Indy, Jax, TB those games were all close because of his inaccuracy. Cam is a tremendous all around weapon, much like Vick was he is just not that great of a QB. It's fine because Carolina has built their team around his play-making ability, they don't need to rely on his arm. It's hard to translate that into Madden though, so for them to make him a top QB they have to artificially raise his stats into something they shouldn't be.

Stats mean very little in the NFL. Cam is 16th in passing yards because the team doesn't pass much, plus they've been blowing quite a few teams out early, so the need to pass isn't there.

As for the accuracy...Check out who his WR's are.

Stats mean a lot, especially completion % for a QB. It tells you how accurate he is. You can say "look at his WR's" but that just an excuse fans make to mask a bad QB. Good QB's complete passes regardless of who their WR's are. In 2006 Tom Brady had Reche Caldwell, Jabar Gaffney and Doug Gabriel has his top WR's, he still completed over his 60% of his passes. Russell Wilson still completes 68% of his passes this year with bad WR's. Cam also has some guy named Greg Olson who is one of the 3 best TE's in the NFL.

I think if Cam had an Elite WR in a passing offense he wouldnt be ranked 15-16 in passing yards..

He did have an Elite WR in Steve Smith and when he had him he was able to throw for over 4000 yards. In 2011 he finished 10th in yards. The problem has always been his completion %, that same year he was 18th (lowest among guys who threw for 4000 yards). Here is how he has finished each season in completion %:

                                2011 - 18th
                                2012 - 26th
                                2013 - 16th
                                2014 - 29th
                                2015 - 28th

If it was one or two seasons you could say he had a bad year, even HOF QB's have a few bad seasons. But he has never been an accurate QB, even when he had an elite WR in Steve Smith. Great all around player, but not a great QB. There is nothing wrong with that Carolina wins games because of him, but Madden has his accuracy highly overrated because of that.
