I actually like my receivers. The speed they have is incredible. Will they catch everything? No. Will they run the most precise routes? No. But they'll get the job done and when the ball is in their hands in the open field, they can go the distance.

I like Moore's Heisman chances. He'll get plenty of opportunities, that's for sure. His role is about to increase a lot more now that he is THE MAN.

I'm running a SDSU dynasty and created a QB like a Cam Newton type, only not as good. Just started the third year, he's like a 80-something and we went 10-3 last season, got walloped in the Ponsettia Bowl by Rutgers 48-10 . We've improved from 2-star prestige to 3-star prestige and finally look to get a couple 4-star recruits. Sure is fun bringing a bad school up, maybe I'll get a PAC-10 invite eventually, gotta win the MWC a couple times first though.
Thanks man...This game is addicting. I think this is the most progress I made prior to Christmas ever in a dynasty. I can honestly see myself going another 4 to 5 seasons with this.

Running the ball with Moore will make opponents start to play the run and I think they will give up a lot of big plays to that Tulane Speeeeeed!
    This guy gets it.

I made it a focal point to recruit guys with speed at WR. I knew I wouldn't be able to pull in top talent during the early years, so if I was going to sign guys, I at least wanted them to be fast.

I'm not really a read option guy but you'll probably see some speed option stuff, especially near the goal line. We did a lot of that with High last season in situational short-yardage packages but we'll scale it back. We need him to stay healthy!

We'll run our offense similar to the way we always have: Pro style, short passing game, with a heavy dose of the run.

No kidding man...That's gotta be the toughest stretch of games I have ever seen.

There are so many great teams in this conference, hopefully we can join the party!

I've seen you reading this dynasty on several occassions and was wondering if you'd ever chime in...Thanks for finally posting! :thumbsup1:

We had a scheduling conflict with Georgia Tech. The only week they had an open date that worked for us was in week 1. With a road date with #11 Auburn slated for week two, I really wanted to open the season with an opponent that wasn't as good as GT.

We'll have a one year hiatus from the rivalry and it will be back on in 2016.

He has given some positive feedback from time to time but he has his Debbie Downer moments quite a bit. It's all in fun though, at least I hope...ha!

I just use it as motivation.

Just wanted to bring this post from the other day back up....Good call bro! (Which you'll see why in a moment)

        Green Wave News Clips

        Andrews

Tulane | Wave lands nation's biggest fish, three others
        Thu, 27 Aug 2015 7:30:49 -0700
The Tulane Green Wave has come out of the gates swinging in recruiting this season as Tammy Nunez of the New Orleans Times Picayune reports that the team has received a commitment from Avondale, LA native, blue chip ATH Tommy Andrews, the nation's #1 prospect according to ESPNU's scouting service. Andrews, 6-3 194 pounds, runs a blazing 4.26 40-yard dash and plays both cornerback and wide receiver at Hahnville High School and committed just hours after receiving a formal scholarship offer from Tulane. He chose Tulane over Miami and LSU.

"I am a big family guy and it was important for me to stay close to home," said Andrews.

"They are an up and coming team that is just a couple of players away. They're assembling quite a good team there and I want to be a part of it and play in that dome with players like (RB) Reggie (Moore) and (FS) Dre (Harris)."

Andrews is the first ever blue chip prospect to commit to Tulane and his commitment is a major milestone for the team's up and coming football program.

"I was shocked that he committed so quickly," said Tulane head coach D. Geezy.

"He is one of the fastest players I have ever seen on tape and going in we thought it would be a long shot but we decided to throw our name in the hat. Fortunately for us, his main concern was playing close to home and we're right down the highway from Avondale.

"I envision Tommy as more of a defensive weapon but he is certainly a guy that is capable of doing some things on both sides of the ball as well as on special teams. When you have a player with his kind of speed, you find ways to get him on the field as much as possible. "

In addition to Andrews, the Green Wave got immediate commitments from three other players prior to its week 1 game at San Diego State: 4-star DT Quinton Foster, 3-star FS Curtis McKnight, and 3-star OLB Larry Branch. Of the group, Foster is clearly the biggest signing and he is expected to be an immediate starter at defensive tackle next fall for the Green Wave.

"This was one of, if not the most successful first active week of recruiting I have ever been a part of," said Geezy.

"I think it says a lot about the direction of our program and I think young players have begun to warm up to spending their college years in New Orleans. We have a lot of good pieces in place here and the fact that we're now in the SEC makes Tulane an attractive option.

"What we're learning is that the SEC and the city of New Orleans is a pretty easy sell for an 18-year old kid."

Thanks guys...I was stunned by the instant commit. Heck I was stunned that we started out #1 on his list. It's rare that the nation's #1 prospect is in your home state. Avondale is about 15 minutes from New Orleans so I guess it was an easy decision for him to want to play SEC football at Tulane. Think about it - If Tulane really was in the SEC, it would be a recruiting hot spot. I mean what 18-year old kid wouldn't want to spend his next four years down the road from Bourbon St.? Not to mention the fine work of our recruiting visit hostesses (see avatar). :jizz:

I don't think I have ever gotten as excited about a signing as I did when I saw that +5000 pop up on the screen for this kid! I'm excited to use his 98 speed all over the field next year.

Tulane is making huge strides behind Coach Geezy, this recruiting class looks off to a real hot start and the season is barely underway. As for this season, that schedule looks miserable, but you definitely have the offensive firepower to be in all of these games. Heavy dose of Reggie should be a handful for any team. Good luck in the opener this one looks like a tune up game (knock on wood)!
I agree on being in every game...We have a very young team so our overall ratings may be a bit skewed by our team's overall youth - We have only 4 seniors in the starting lineup (CB, MLB, C, FB). I think our team's ""skill attributes,"" such as speed at WR, coverage ratings in the defensive backfield, etc., are solid.

Reggie is going to get a lot more opportunities this year now that RB Joey Roberts (our other 1,000 yard rushed a year ago) has graduated. Still though, I don't want to over-work him and my style of offense is to spread the ball around all over, similar to Sean Payton and the Saints (the team I try to emulate).

I hope you're right about the corners. They got off to somewhat of a rough start in game 1 as you'll see in a moment, though they did improve in the second half once I stopped playing so much man coverage.

            42 -- 1-0
            35 -- 0-1

Tulane QB Anthony High's 19-yard touchdown pass to WR Isaiah Smith gave the Green Wave their first lead of the game, making the score 35-28 with 8:56 remaining. The team had once trailed 28-7 in the second quarter.

TULANE SCORES 35 CONSECUTIVE POINTS EN ROUTE TO A THRILLING 42-35 COMEBACK VICTORY AT SAN DIEGO ST. ON THE OPENING WEEKEND OF THE SEASON

QB Anthony High tosses five touchdown passes, leading his team back from a 28-7 first half deficit | Five different receivers score for Green Wave | Defense clamps down in second half, holding Aztecs to just one touchdown after struggling earlier in the game | Showdown at #10 Auburn up next for Green Wave

San Diego, CA -- For the second consecutive season, the Tulane Green Wave needed a second half scoring onslaught to comeback and defeat the San Diego Aztecs, this time by a final score 42-35 Saturday on opening day at San Diego. Junior QB Anthony High, making his first start since his freshman year in 2013, went 19 of 31 for 252 yards and threw 5 touchdown passes, leading his team back from a 28-7 first half deficit. High's 19-yard fourth quarter touchdown pass to senior WR Isaiah Smith gave the Green Wave their first lead at 35-28 with 8:56 remaining in the game.

Tulane, who defeated the Aztecs last season 38-34 by scoring 21 unanswered fourth quarter points, increased their lead to 42-28 when High found RB Reggie Moore on a screen pass for a 13-yard score with 5:37 left. Moore finished the game with 2 receptions for 30 yards to go along with his team-high 72 rushing yards.

"They're a team that throws a lot of things at you defensively that you're not used to seeing with their 3-3-5 defense," said Tulane head coach D. Geezy.

"It took us a little while to figure out how they were attacking us but once we started finding the holes in their secondary, we were fine. It took about a quarter for Anthony to settle down and to get the offense going and boy did he do it."

San Diego State (0-1) stormed out to a 28-7 first half lead while also taking advantage of three Tulane turnovers, all in the first quarter. After taking a 7-0 first quarter advantage, the Aztecs forced a fumble by Moore on Tulane's ensuing possession and Aztecs SS Justin Monroe recovered the ball and took it 27 yards to the house to increase his team's lead to 14-0. Monroe also caught an interception to thwart Tulane's opening possession of the game earlier in the first quarter.

Freshman FS Dre Harris would get the Green Wave on the board finally, catching his first career interception and returning it 67 yards for a touchdown to cut Tulane's deficit to 14-7. Harris' interception came following High's second turnover of the game, which came deep in Tulane territory and set up San Diego State in position to take a three possession lead. Harris would later add a sack and also finished his first game with 8 tackles.

Aztecs freshman QB Andy Carter, who played most of the game in place of injured senior QB Rasheed Perez, tossed two second quarter touchdown passes to increase his team's lead to 28-7. He finished 16 of 29 for 242 yards with 3 touchdowns and 1 interception in relief of Perez, who left the game in the first quarter with a rib injury.

High's first touchdown pass of the day, a 3-yard toss to senior FB Simon Parker, cut Tulane's deficit to 28-14 and gave them momentum going into halftime, setting the stage for their big time second half comeback.

All five of High's touchdown passes were to different targets - Parker, Smith, Moore, sophomore WR Brennan Carpenter, and freshman WR Herbie Smith each caught one each. TE Joel Bowers led all receivers with 6 receptions for 120 yards on the night.

San Diego State would score only one time in the fourth quarter, via a 4-yard touchdown pass from Carter to TE Noah Foster, which made the score 42-35 with 1:22 to go.

Harris, a 4-star recruit this past off-season, would recover the ensuing onsides kick however, enabling the Green Wave to run out the clock.

"We switched up our coverages and did a lot more zone coverage and zone blitzing and they had no answer for it in the second half," said Tulane defensive coordinator/assistant head coach Charles Kelly.

Tulane (1-0) will travel to face #10 Auburn (0-0) next week on the road. The Green Wave defeated the Tigers 34-31 last season at the Louisiana Superdome.

"We have a ton of kinks to clean up after tonight's game but all in all, I liked our effort," said Geezy.

"We'll have to make significant improvements here though as we move forward into SEC play. We will not be able to get away with three first quarter turnovers or going down 28-7 to start the game next week."

Tulane freshman FS Dre Harris, a 4-star recruit from Ohio, recorded the first interception of his career in the first quarter and returned it 67 yards for a touchdown to put the Green Wave on the board. The big play cut San Diego State's early lead to 14-7.

They really had our running game bottled up and they seemed to do a good job of not letting Moore get open as a receiver out of the backfield. I definitely tried to hit the big play with Moore often but it just wasn't there.

Another thing that was a problem, which I am going to correct, Moore was getting fatigued early on drives because he was also being used as my primary kickoff return guy. That won't happen anymore, he's being taken off kickoff return duty unless it is a crucial return. He really hasn't done much back there since returning two in his first two games last season anyway.

I'll probably go with the back-up junior RB Anthony Barnett on kickoffs starting next game.

Thanks Tearz..I feel the same way about this video game as a whole. I am enjoying it more and more as the years go by and seeing all the players come and go. This may be the most fun I have ever had doing a dynasty.

Thanks man...SD State played us tough last year so I'm not overly concerned. We started off slow versus the unfamiliar 3-3-5 last year and was able to figure it out in the second half just like in this game.

We'll be ready for Auburn. They're talented, but I think we can ""out-coach"" them. It will be a fun matchup.

Let's hope you're right! We have a tough stretch of games coming up here in this early season so we need to clean up our mistakes quickly.

Big come from behind win as well. High and Bowers had excellent games. Moore looks like he was contained somewhat...it will be interesting to see if the defenses around the SEC start keying in on Moore this season.
I am envisioning Andrews as a defensive back though I will definitely look to line him up for some deep patterns 2-3 times a game. With his great coverage attributes, there is no way I can't put him back there on defense but at the same time, his 98 speed needs to be utilized on offense as well. What a great ""problem"" to have.

I think Moore just had a rough game. I'd be shocked if this is a sign of things to come. He'll be a focal point of our offensive game plan here as we move forward and the competition increases. Look for some big things from Moore this season.

It's going to be about getting the little things done in this one and getting the running game jump started. If anyone can do it though, it's moore. Good luck!
I felt that was the case as far as the jitters. It was my first game in over a week real-time so it took me a moment to get back into the flow. Plus it took me a few series to get used to their 3-3-5 defense.

I agree with you on Auburn. We have to play mistake free football and I have to make sure I protect the football with my ball carriers to prevent those composure-related fumbles. It should be a great game. I'm truly excited to play it later tonight!

This will be my first time EVER, in any edition of NCAA Football, playing a game at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Heh...Yeah it was a very similar game. Not quite as thrilling of an ending though.

Someone is going to lose their job for that one. I don't think Coughlin gets along with Perry Fewell so he may be gone and I also think the special teams coach may get canned.

I really enjoyed playing against San Diego State. In fact, that may be the team I use for my next dynasty a couple of years from now. I like their colors, their stadium, and I am intrigued about the possibility of a Pac-10 invite.

Junior quarterback continues his impressive start to 2015 season, throws for 255 yards and 4 touchdowns as Tulane dominates from start to finish | Green Wave silences the crowd by storming out to a 21-0 first quarter lead | RB Moore accounts for 193 yards from scrimmage and 2 touchdowns in his team's big upset victory | Tulane set to host Hawai'i next week in home opener

Auburn, AL -- The Tulane Green Wave raced out to a 21-0 first quarter lead and never looked back, dominating the 10th ranked Auburn Tigers in a 38-14 rout Saturday at Jordan-Hare Stadium. QB Anthony High started the day 10 of 10 for 147 yards and 2 touchdowns, directing two scoring drives on each of Tulane's first two possessions. High finished the day 18 of 25 for 255 yards and four touchdowns along with one interception, which came off a deflected pass.

Tulane began the contest by taking the game's opening possession 79 yards on just five plays, all passes. The 2 minute 52 second drive culminated with a 2-yard touchdown pass from High to FB Simon Parker to give the Green Wave an early 7-0 lead.

After forcing a 3 and out on Auburn's opening possession, Tulane got the ball back and marched down the field again with ease, shredding the Auburn secondary on its way to another score. This time, High found WR Gerald Alexander from 5 yards away for a touchdown that made the score 14-0.

After trading punts, Tulane freshman CB Cedric Burnette's 24-yard interception return for a touchdown made the score 21-0 with just under a minute remaining in the first quarter. The interception was a career-first for Burnette, a 4-star signing this past off-season.

"Our strategy coming into today was to set the tempo early by passing the football and scoring quickly & we did just that," said Tulane head coach D. Geezy.

"We had what we believed was some favorable matchups versus their back-7, primarily against their young outside linebackers and safeties and we took advatage of it with a heavy dose of seam routes to the tight ends and passes to our running backs out of the backfield."

After successfully passing the ball early, Tulane began to pound the ball with RB Reggie Moore, who finished with 135 rushing yards on only 18 carries. As a team, the Green Wave rushed for 268 yards on 42 carries, successfully using its passing game early to set up the run later.

Tulane, who led 31-14 at halftime, forced a punt on Auburn's opening possession of the second half, and got the ball back at their own 1-yard line following a great punt by Tigers P Jeremy Moss. The poor field position did not overwhelm Tulane's prolific offensive attack however as the team would go on a 10-play 99-yard drive which took up 3:26 and included a 40-yard rush by Moore on a 3rd and 28. The long drive concluded with a 22-yard touchdown pass from High to Moore which made the score 38-14 with 4:19 to go in the quarter. The touchdown reception was Moore's second of the game as he finished with 4 catches for 58 yards and 2 scores.

Auburn (0-1) struggled to move the football offensively most of the day and had a hard time sustaining drives. The Tigers finished just 1 of 7 on third downs and was 0 for 1 on fourth down. As a result, the Green Wave dominated in time of possession - 27:39 to 8:21.

Tigers star RB Nicholas Archer finished with only 13 rushing yards on 8 carries, just one season after rushing for 200 yards against the Green Wave last year at the Superdome in a 34-31 Tulane win. Tigers QB Will Campbell finished the game 18 of 31 for 255 yards with 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions.

"Archer killed us last year and we weren't going to let that happen again," said Tulane defensive coordinator/assistant head coach Charles Kelly, who played defensive back at Auburn and graduated from the school in 1990.

"The offense did a great job of giving us an early lead and forcing them to have to pass most of the game. That no-huddle offense of theirs is a lot easier to stop when you don't have to worry about number 40 (Archer) running the ball and you can mix in a good bit of zone coverage and zone blitzes."

Tulane (2-0) will host Hawai'i (0-1) next week at the Louisiana Superdome. The Warriors fell 42-18 to Troy on the road this week in their season opener.

Tulane QB Anthony High's 22-yard touchdown pass to RB Reggie Moore capped off a 10-play 99-yard drive on Tulane's first possession of the third quarter and put the game away at 38-14. The long scoring drive included a 40-yard run by Moore on a 3rd and 28 deep in Tulane territory earlier in the possession.

He is off to a hot start...Hopefully it continues. I same it back when he started a few games for me a couple of years ago and I'll say it again, there is a different feel to the game when he is in there. He seems to be much more accurate than Byrd ever was.

I'll be honest and say I was legitimately surprised with how well the team played against Auburn, I was anticipating a much closer game. The team is starting to really come together. If you play like that every week, it's going to be tough to beat you. Good luck against Hawaii, get ready for like sixty passing attempts by them haha.
I too was surprised at how quickly and easily we disposed of Auburn. When it got up to 21-0, I had one of those moments where I had to make sure the game was still on Heisman mode. I came in with a game plan to be aggressive to get an early lead; Never in my wildest imagination did I think it would be a lead THAT big.

I think you're right...The key to the season will be how well can the defense continue to play. This Hawai'i game should be a good test for our young secondary.

No kidding...I expected to go up a tad higher than 22 in the polls. We came in at 29. I would think a blowout win of the supposed #10 team on the road would move us into the teens. Oh well.

We passed to set up the run. I must say, that was probably the most well-executed game from an offensive perspective that I have had. We came in with a very detailed plan (early, aggressive passing, working the seams to take advantage of their freshman OLBs and ""average"" safeties, get an early lead to make them more one-dimensional on offense thus rendering their stud RB a non-factor, then pound them with the run once they back off to cover the pass) and it all worked to perfection.

You have a tough stretch coming up here after Hawaii with games against Georgia, LSU and Florida - anxious to see how you fare in those matchups.[/font]
I'm not going to look ahead to those games. Hawai'i is a very unfamiliar opponent and they're offensive style could pose problems as we have had problems in the past defending the pass. I purporsely scheduled them so that I can see what my new, young secondary is made of.

We'll look ahead to the big conference games after we handle this one. I don't think it'll be easy.

RB/KR Reggie Moore's 99-yard second quarter kickoff return for a touchdown deflated any ounce of hope Hawai'i had left just prior to halftime.

                            FINAL TUNE-UP

Tulane rushes for 419 yards and 4 touchdowns as a team in 55-21 ousting of Hawai'i in 2015 home opener | Running backs Moore and Bennett each top 100 yards on less than 10 carries | SEC clash with #21 Georgia next up for Green Wave

New Orleans, LA -- In a game that was never really close, Tulane easily disposed of the Hawai'i Warriors 55-21 Saturday afternoon at the Louisiana Superdome. The Green Wave dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball and rushed for 419 yards and 4 touchdowns as a team, led by RB Reggie Moore's 116-yard effort, a yardage total he obtained on only 8 carries.

Moore's back-up, RB Anthony Barnett, also had a strong performance, rushing for 108 yards on just 7 carries. Barnett's career-high 65-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter made the score 31-0.

Hawai'i (0-2) would pull to within 24 points when QB Leonard Davis hit RB Adam Clemens on a screen pass for a 5-yard touchdown that made the score 38-14 with just 0:21 remaining in the half. Davis finished 27 of 45 for 264 yards along with 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions, and the late touchdown just before halftime seemingly gave the Warriors some momentum going into the locker room.

The 24-point deficit was short-lived however, as Moore would return the ensuing kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown, pushing the Green Wave's lead to 45-14 with just 0:09 to go in the half. The kickoff return touchdown was the first for Moore since week two of last season and he now has three kickoff return touchdowns in his career.

The Green Wave would pull most of its starters in the second half, allowing its back-ups to get some valuable playing time. Third string RB B.J. Johnson, who is a native of Hawai'i that had soft committed to his home state university prior to eventually signing with Tulane on National Signing Day, finished with 69 yards on 8 carries, including a 26-yard second quarter touchdown run.

Hawai'i would only manage to score one touchdown against Tulane's reserves, a 3-yard touchdown pass from Davis to Clemens on a 4th and goal screen pass late in the fourth quarter.

"This was a good team win and I was proud of the effort that each side of the ball displayed today," said Tulane head coach D. Geezy.

"We wanted to establish the running game early to keep their run and shoot offense on the sideline most of the game and we succeeded in that. I also thought we did a hell of a job on third down defense, holding them to just 1 of 11 on third downs, with that one conversion coming on the game's final drive. You won't lose too often when you accomplish something like that."

Tulane (3-0, 1-0) will host #21 Georgia next week at the Louisiana Superdome. The Bulldogs (1-2, 0-1) have been somewhat of a disappointment this season, losing two games in a season in which they were ranked #6 coming into the year. They lost to then-17th ranked Oregon 21-18 in week 1 and fell to South Carolina 37-24 last week, both defeats coming at home.

The game will mark the first meeting between the two schools since 1985, when Georgia defeated Tulane 58-3 in Athens. The Green Wave is 10-14-1 all-time against Georgia, who they faced mostly from 1933-1965, when the school was on its first stint as a member of the Southeastern Conference.

Thanks man...Hawaii's front 7 was horrendous and I knew we could take advantage of that. Our offensive line had a great game and deserves the credit.

I have to agree...When it is all said and done, Moore may be the best player I have ever had, and that's saying a lot.

We actually play Georgia next...The Georgia Tech dynasty has been put on hold because of a scheduling conflict (they were only available to play in week 1 and I didn't want to play them to start the year).

Yep...I plan to play them next year at Aloha Stadium. Hopefully the result is the same.

I actually see this one being a good, close game. Hopefully your prediction is off.
