For the first possession of the game, playing in this loud stadium with a freshman QB, my WR icons did not show up. Instead of having a B, LB, A, etc...all I got was question marks. I guess this was in effect of having a player with a low composure rating at QB. I thought that was pretty neat.
Anyway, that issue disappeared after that first drive and never came back again. I guess due to our momentum and lead. So it really was indeed important for us to take the crowd out of the game early.
Nice tough by EA.
Interesting, I played with a freshman QB in year 2. Like you, I normally try to get ""my guy"" at that position early in the dynasty.
The question marks did not appear. Perhaps because I was in Conference USA while also playing a less than challenging out of conference schedule that featured no ""Toughest Places to Play."" Clearly, this wasn't the case versus Miami.
Thanks for following and glad you decided to post!
I've been silently following this for awhile, and first off it's a very impressive dynasty Geezy I'm really enjoying keeping up with it. Secondly, yes, the buttons are momentum and how I like to put it ""confidence"". I've seen it a good amount because I almost always in year two have a freshman QB (first step of molding the team to how I want it) and if you throw a pick or play in a real rowdy venue he'll be shaky. I haven't played in awhile so I might be incorrect, but I think if he starts very poorly in a big venue the routes might disappear entirely.
Oh and nice win."
The squiggly lines happen regardless of who you have at QB I believe.
But what we're talking about also happens. Your icons above the WRs disappear.
I had a pass play on the first play of the game that almost resulted in an INT because of it. I hit the wrong button...thankfully my boy Reggie Moore bailed me out and broke off his route and caught it for about a 20-yard gain.
Yep...Has to be. My first drive against Hawai'i was nothing like that. It really caught me off-guard but now I know I'll have to prepare for that moving forward with games on the road against Bama and LSU looming down the road.
I think so too. We blew those guys out last season at Auburn. They may have payback on their minds. It is our home opener and we've won 13 straight there; We must protect our house!
Yeah I think it is a really great way to simulate a nervous young quarterback. There have been instances of freshman QBs coming in and playing at a high level, though rare:

Chad Henne, Chris Leak, and Terrelle Pryor were the best of the bunch on that list, but they were certainly the exception, not the rule.
Jamie Manning's two ""cousins"" Peyton and Eli were both fairly successful as SEC freshman, though neither of them were opening day starters.
