    Scouting Points

Can you save your points? I usually don't scout till after the season but I thought I read somewhere you lose points if you don't scout throughout the season

This year if you don't scout during a particular week you lose half those points for the next week. I use to wait too, now it's just better to do it every week.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I wait till I have around 300 then scout. Especially if you purchase the extra points package for your coach, and you know how to scout (if the first trait is B or C+, why continue scouting, move on) you end up having more than enough. I typically go into the draft with a bunch of points left over. Scout the positions you need.

The grades that you get are the top three attributes. I just scout the first attribute and skip anything below B+. Then you just determine what's important to you.

Trust the grades and combine, regardless of what the scouts give as the kid's round to draft. For example: I scouted a 6th round QB who had A/B+/B+ grades had a good combine. He was still awarded a "6th round" green icon. I drafted him in the 3rd round just to be safe. He ended up being the 5th best talent in the entire draft and I ended up with a franchise QB.

So, for me, the key is to scout every single week and use your points. Look for positions of need and take note of strong grades. Don't be afraid to use points to scout later round prospects. Don't, however, unlock everything on a player if the first or second unlocks are C+ or lower.

Scout as much as you can, as often as you can, and spend your points. Don't save them to the end of the year; you're throwing away points and a possible scout on a franchise player. I was simply doing my due diligence on the QB I mentioned and realized his grades were solid so I selected to watch him. Once his combine score came in as good, I knew I had to target him.
