Re: Rory McIlroy PGA TOUR Available Today - Post Your Impressions Here
Dumb just in terms of this;
I am a 6.4 handicap IRL. After I hit my approach shot as I walk to the green I survey it and the land around it to get clues to what the predominant break will be.
Can't really do that in the game with zoom off. You can stare at the green before hitting your approach shot but it isn't the same because you only have 4 angles to choose from and none give you the same feedback like real life.
Once I reach the green I try to immediately sense the overall slope of my upcoming putt with my feet as I walk to mark my ball. Then I do my best to locate the fall line.
Cannot do either of these in the game for obvious reasons.
If I putt first or during any window after anyone else has putted, I would first walk to the low side of the putt, midway between ball and hole and get the best mental impression of how the ball would take the break. Then walk back to the ball and stand directly behind it and take just a few strokes to gauge distance of the line I have determined.
Can't do that in the game with zoom off.
And in before anyone comments it must be hell to play behind me, no, I can do all this extremely quickly. Once you have your pre-putt routine down it works like clockwork. And if you put this in to practice, then if you miss a putt you just missed a putt. It happens.
Back to the same thing, if you could just swivel the camera and walk the green by having the putting cams with zoom on when you reach the green with zoom toggled off, perfect!
