    NCAA 14 vs 13

I own 13 and I like it on PS3 but I don't know how much better ncaa 14 is. Should I upgrade?

NCAA 14 is a lot better game as most people on here will tell you. The recruiting is the biggest difference in my opinion, it's a lot different but I feel it's also better in NCAA 14. The gameplay is smoother in NCAA 14 and if you're the kind of person that wants to play with updated rosters there are tons of great people on OS that update the rosters... check out vikesfan059 thread in the "Roster" section for the most detailed roster.

Biggest differences in my opinion: A lot more variety in playbook options, they added a ton of new shotgun stuff in 14. A lot harder to throw the fade in 14. I think the team intros were a downgrade from 13 to 14. Recruiting has been dumbed down big time in 14, no more promises.

Overall 14 is a great game. I still play it to this day and I bought it at launch.

I paid $20 for it in the XBOX store a few weeks ago.

You think $20 is a good deal for it? I have NCAA 12 and love that game but I've been wondering if getting 14 would be a significant upgrade.

NCAA 14 is $50 at GS for the 360 and $30 for PS3.

                $20 would be good price.

I see that the price is definitely a good deal thanks. I've just been wondering if its worth $20 to upgrade to 14 from 12. But seeing as the price is pretty high in comparison to other places, I'll probably go for it.

Adding to this, the zone read infinitely better.

In NCAA 13 you could hold Oregon to negative rushing yards using quarters defense the entire game. I remember changing the playbooks of spread option teams before going against them or outright not scheduling them.

Coaching carousel is a lot better as well. In 13 if you failed to hit the milestones in the first year of your contract you got fired at the end of the contract no matter how much you improved. Coaches would sign one year deals or leave HC jobs for coordinating positions. That stuff doesn't happen in 14.

To answer OP's question about whether or not it's worth full price, that ultimately depends on your cashflow.

                      Re: NCAA 14 vs 13

There is really little comparison in my opinion. Improvements from 13 to 14 include, but are not limited to, the following:
                      • No DB Glitch. The DB glitch was a major issue on 13 that was patched in 14.
                      • Option game is much more robust and better implemented.
                      • ESPN integration adds a lot of dynasty immersion, especially in-game as you have in-game updates. You care about "the bottom line" as much in your dynasty as you do watching the real thing.
                      • Recruiting is streamlined and is quite effective
                      • Lots of options in-game, like editing players in your dynasty.
                      • Coaching trees add a lot of variability
                      • Better uniform options
                      • Graphics improved, especially stadium lighting in night games (a major issue on 13 for PS3).
                      • Infinity Engine 2 is much improved.
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.
