He definitely improved from last year, he probably still has nightmares about the Thursday game against the Browns. In his defense, last year Eifert and Marvin jones did not play, AJ and Gio missed pretty significant time so he was left with Sanu and Jermaine Gresham to throw to. He was still inaccurate and inconsistent but he improved that this year and had everyone healthy all year. His problem has always been when he's under pressure and there's some throws he just can't make. He wasn't put in those situations as much this year.
It most certainly does not.
1. Carson gets hurt on first play.
2. Most talented receiver Chris Henry dies a few weeks before the playoffs, leaving them with an ineffective WR core. Jets went to AFC championship game that year in large part because of their defense.
3. Dalton's first year and they overachieved and beat bad teams in the regular season and went up against a good Houston team on the road.
4. One play away from winning against Houston but they still weren't expected to win the game.
5. Should've beaten the Chargers at home. Dalton was dreadful.
6. Rex Burkhead and Sanu were our only receivers. Defense was also destroyed by injuries.
7. Whatever you want to call Saturday nights game.
Put two or three of those on Marvin at most. He completely turned this franchise around and to look at the playoff record and not the circumstances that surrounded the team for most of them is shortsighted. This team doesn't need to be rebuilt they need to have continuity at this point so why bring someone else in who will likely do everything differently? Hue and Guenther aren't guaranteed improvements and who else is out there right now that's better than Marvin?
