NCAA 07/10 community rosters ported for PSP from PS3

Note: This will work on PSP, PPSSPP, PS Vita, and PS TV.

Introduction

Hello! I don't think anyone has done this yet. I just picked up a used PSP recently as well as a PSTV so I could get my NCAA fix on (only have a PS4 console now). I had to do A LOT of digging and a A LOT of experimenting, but my success of porting Madden PC rosters to Madden PSP sure helped a lot.

These rosters were originally created by the community here at Operation Sports and I've only taken them and converted them to be used on PSP/PS2 with a variety of modifications to make them work properly.

NCAA 2015-2016 Update!
I will first like to thank Vikesfan059 for permission to use and port over his team's amazing work on their NCAA 14 PS3 roster. This wouldn't have even been a remote idea without it. Also big thanks to reeshmd23 for testing and helping find bugs in earlier tests and exchanging ideas. We have more mods we're talking about but requires resources from other games in the series. And finally, big thanks to the communities here and at footballidiot for some great tools and guides.

The 2015 roster is a heavily modified port of a community roster found here.
The file was created using a base NCAA 14 roster for PS3 created by various members on Operation Sports: vikesfan059, BossHawgMichigan, CPmustangs75, Arrowhead29, bigbob, Her89Man, Jackster802, muckcity, sean15012, TCUFan, thesportsguru11, wewereGiants, and Zaybreezy25.

FEATURES:

2010 / 2011 Rosters

• Direct Port of Operation Sports Community PS2 Roster
• No Changes were made

2015 Rosters:

• Based on Vikesfan059 community PS3 roster from early January 2016.
• Removed FCS team rosters - add them back in the future
• Converted text names to numerical names used in PSP/PS2
• Features ~50 faces, 6 skin tones, and various accessories
• Used a statistical averaged body shape function to determine body/shoulder/leg sizes based on height-to-weight ratio - WIP
• Bugs may still be present. Please let me know if you run across any!

Future Ideas:
Tweak body shapes - Completed for now.
2015 schedules (template.dat?)
Conference realignment (template.dat?)
Bowl Games (template.dat?)
Textures/Graphics (*.msh file....)
Import Draft Class to Madden PSP

Instructions:
Download and extract files.
Copy the UXXXXX folder to you /PSP/SAVEDATA/ folder.
Load up Roster in the game!

04/09/2016 - Major update!

The formula to convert PS3 to PS2/PSP ratings has completely been rewritten and this affects every player in the roster. Majority of players will have increase in skill ratings.

NCAA PSP and PS2 Updates
-No gloves for QBs, kickers, punters
-Gloves added for all other position players
-No more ankle straps; regular shoes only.
-Helmet face masks will no longer be single bar
-Added hair styles in though may only see it in PS2 version
-randomized sock and sleeve lengths and wrist guards
-fixed name casing on PS2
-more misc updates/fixes

Updated the OP with a new set of rosters. I ported over the OperationSports community roster for NCAA 11 on PS2 to NCAA 10 on PSP. File attached for OP.

edit - this a running stream of thoughts... so it may not make sense

No luck so far trying to convert NCAA 15 rosters to PSP.

PSP has no text strings in the database that I've outputted, while PS3 version does.

I attached the two excels for anyone that wants to help figure this out with me.

I'm pretty confident those columns make up the name PF## being First Name letter position and PL## being Last Name letter position.... just gotta figure out to convert the numbers to a letter.

Is the 07 csv one with players named? Or the default one with just numbers?

NCAA 15 = PS3 roster
BALSUS etc etc = PS2 roster that works in PSP (its in numbers)
NCAA 07 PSP = named NCAA roster that's also in numbers

you can import the PS2/PSP ones into NCAA 10 PSP using dbeditor.

the ps3 one will probably require a lot more work.

figuring out the numbers -> names is step one.
but i dont see where the player is attached a Team. There is a player id column, but no team id.

if you open the actual roster save in dbeditor, there's a Team and Depth chart table as well. The Team one just shows team ratings, while the depth chart shows player id, player position, and player depth chart location, but doesnt correspond to a team?

Wow. I extracted the name generation translation from one of the TDB databases in NCAA called PLNU.

So what's the next step figuring out what fields are so we can copy over info? Never messed with ncaa is it like madden editor where you import edited csv to roster file?

You can import and export using Madden DB Editor just like in Madden series. You can also use DAT File replacer to open up Template.dat from the NCAA UMD/ISO as well which after extracted can be opened up in DB Editor too. I think I figured out what each of the template.db are but they still dont lead me to figuring out how each player corresponds to a team.

I'm thinking maybe the player ID has something to do with it, but no real leads yet

Ok so only thing holding up transferring these is figuring out how to associate team?

Sorry to be a pain trying to learn, is there a cheat sheet that tells you what the columns correspond to for both saves?

I attached DB Editor with updated definitions file. I found this definitions update on FootballIdiot Utilities forum. There are some missing columns though since NCAA uses some different things, and I haven't added any to it. RCHT for example is Recruit Hometown.

The definitions file is just a text file, if you don't want to load up the roster in DB Editor.

I have a work-in-progress spreadsheet/database I am working on that has some of what potentially could be a roster conversion.

There are several missing fields from NCAA 15 to NCAA 10 which could just be a different in table name. I'll post it after I get home from work and maybe others can help decipher if I havent already.

Other thing, and this might a simple fix is that NCAA PS3/XBOX ratings are on a 100 point scale, while NCAA ratings are on a 30 point scale (i think). Probably just a division and rounding formula to fix this for now.

Here's my WIP 2015 NCAA database. It's just the final layout which is made from another 18mb spreadsheet with lots of formulas and worksheets that I didn't upload because of size restrictions. PM'd you the link.

As you can see, there's a bunch of slots that are empty. I sort of know what some of them are but not all. I tried filling in 0's, modified the roster and no luck. The game defaulted back to the unnamed default roster.

I made a test run of just changing the names field and it looks like names do show up in the game. So at least that theory is proven successful
