Re: Power Run
I'm not sure why you're having issues running out of the I formation. I run about 30% straight power I, 20% offset I, and about 30% Singleback. The other 20% I'm in shotgun for long yardage situations and 2min drills.
What specifically is your issue with running out the power I? Just that you don't like it? You need a fullback with good run blocking ability, and faster guards for the power plays where the guards pull.Check out my dynasty thread:

Re: Power Run
I try to stick with a balanced TE and run blocking FB. I do not know what I am doing wrong, but I can not gain more than 2yds on any I- run play. Switch to a Weak/Strong and they need to all 11 in box to stop me. I have to be doing something wrong or reading defense wrong. No idea. But, I have no problems passing out if it.Comment

Re: Power Run
Could be you're just hitting the wrong holes? I'm not sure without actually seeing what you're doing. But the run plays out of I-form normal have a ton of cut back lanesCheck out my dynasty thread:

Are you making sure you're running to the hole/area the play art is showing?
Is your team built for run blocking? (strength and run block ratings)
Where is the strength of your line? (left, right, middle, etc)
Maybe sub a more athletic lineman in at tackle to get some better blocking ratings on the field?
Are the numbers in your favor in the box? (does the defense have more defenders in the box than you have blockers?)

Re: Power Run
I have moved on to a more balanced spread game, but for years I ran a run heavy offense. My go-to formation was the "strong I", or the "offset I".
My favorite play was the power play, it really lets you make them commit to the inside run, but still be able to get outside the tackle. Like these other guys said, you have to wait for the play to develop, take your time, and hit the hole when you see it about to open up.NFL: Oakland Raiders

This actually my favorite formation. Stretch, counter and power are really the plays I run. Sprinkle in some PA.I have moved on to a more balanced spread game, but for years I ran a run heavy offense. My go-to formation was the "strong I", or the "offset I".

I focus my recruiting and position to the right side. Then, with the I-formations, only play I can run successfully is the dive. Outside runs are a no-go.Comment

Re: Power Run
I don't really go under center any more, but when I did that was the formation I ran around 75% of the time. I would run the power play (about 75% of the time to the left) and had quite a bit of success outside the tackles. Off of that I would run the waggle play back to the right side of the field to roll to my QB's right. I don't know what you have for sliders (I play on Heisman with sliders in favor of the computer about 60% to 40% for myself) so maybe try messing with them a little bit. It shouldn't be easy to run on the CPU, particularly if they are a better team, but it should be possible without switching your offense.NFL: Oakland Raiders
