Re: Armor & Sword's All Pro Custom Simulation (15 Min Quarters) Style Sliders

Played first game of the season as the Detroit Lions, had a few more plays than I desired but no big deal as the Chargers went away from running it. I think I prefer playing on 15m with 11s runoff instead of 11m with no runoff. Will play next game and see how it goes.

Thrilling win against the Vikings that went into O.T. Could not run the ball at all versus the Vikings while they pounded my vag when running. I contained A.P for about 11 carries and 38 yards at the beginning of the game and then he ran like 65 yards for a TD and continued to bend the D over.

Re: Armor & Sword's All Pro Custom Simulation (15 Min Quarters) Style Sliders

A little update on A Dolphins Tale.

Year 3 came to a close yesterday with a thrilling 20-19 Super Bowl win over League MVP Aaron Rodgers and his Green-Bay Packers. Rookie QB Ryan Austin (who took over for Ryan Tannehill in week 9 Tanny was lost for the year and was on pace to shatter the single season yards and TD records) led the team to a huge win and was named the games MVP. Ryan Austin was a 3rd round draft pick out of North Dakota State. He flew under the radar and GM Dan Marino pulled the trigger early after his combine numbers came back and looked incredible. He was a projected 4th rounder but Marino saw something in the Senior Bowl. Austin a south paw has amazing speed and a fantastic deep throw. But his short passing game and throwing on the run is what really makes him dangerous. He proceeded to go undefeated in every start and capped it off with a Super Bowl title. After losing to the Vikings in year 2 to come up one game short of the title, Head Coach Tomas Single guided the Fins to their first title in 44 years. Impressive season considering all the injuries they went through. Missing from the Super Bowl were their #2 and #3 WR's in Devante Parker and Allen Hurns. During the season TE Luke Wilson, RB Lamar Miller and WR Jarvis Landry also missed chunks of the season. But the depth this team had thanks to GM/Owner Dan Marino came through. Players like RB Jay Ajayi, WR Kenny Stills and rookie WR Terrel Gaitor (who is a beast in the making) helped pick up the slack. And of course the brilliant play from QB Ryan Austin.

GM/Owner Dan Marino had some serious decisions to make in the off-season.
How do you go back to Tannehill after your hand picked rookie just won a Super Bowl and was the Super Bowl MVP? Rumors were swirling for the weeks after the game and on draft day Marino pulled the trigger on a blockbuster deal with the Arizona Cardinals. Drew Brees who retired after Year 3 left the Cardinals scrambling (he signed a 2 year deal but only played one year of it). They had the #2 overall pick. Instead of drafting a new QB they accepted a deal with Miami by trading the #2 overall and a 2019 First rounder in exchange for the in his prime Ryan Tannehill.

It is now Ryan Austins team.

Free agent sensation FS Reggie Nelson who was voted DB of the year in the AFC in year 3 made a stunning announcement after he won his first Super Bowl. He is calling it a career. It was a huge blow to the team as they loved his leadership and outstanding play in a young secondary. Also fan favorite FB John Kuhn who was vital in short yardage called it a career as well. LE Cameron Wake despite signing a 2 year extension at the start of year 3...called it a career as well. So some moves had to be made in the off-season

Here are the free agent pick ups the Fins made!

FS Ha Ha Clinton-Dix 88 OVR
RG Kevin Zeitler - 94 OVR
FB Anthony Sherman - 85 OVR
LE Mario Williams - 85 OVR
C Nick Mangold - 82 OVR
DT Raysean Hampton - 81 OVR
QB Tyrod Taylor - 79 OVR
LOLB Elvis Dumervil - 78 OVR
K Zach Hobbs - 70 OVR

So the Dolphins found their FS for many years to come, replaced Wake with Williams, got a stud RG, found a great back up QB for Ryan Austin (The Bills signed Johnny Football!) a veteran back up center for this season in case of injury in Mangold and he can also slide over and play guard if needed. A veteran LOLB as the Dolphins said goodbye to Koa Misi, some depth at DT and a new kicker for a small contract as they waived bye bye to Andre Franks and his inflated contract demands.

I have all the off-season happenings on my twitch channel with a full recap of free agency around the league, and then the draft.

The Dolphins will begin Year 4 (pre-season) tonight.

Re: Armor & Sword's All Pro Custom Simulation (15 Min Quarters) Style Sliders

I need to tighten up defense. 2 games into my 2016-17 season and me and the cpu are throwing for 500yds a game. Only way I stop the CPU is if they turn it over. I would consider myself in the top 1% of players for Madden so I know what I am doing on defense.

I don't user anything on defense and don't user catch. I change my playbook on offense random every game as well so I don't start going to money plays. I let the cpu throw up the 3 plays and I pick the one I like best.

I might have to start my CFM over and tighten up sliders. I took the 49ers and sim the first season and then fired the coach and took over.

I hit on a Randy Moss clone with the #4 pick in the draft. 6'4 95 speed, 85 accel, wimpy like 50 str, and 70 route running, 70 awt, and 95+ jump, cit, cth. I never seen a WR this good and my draft classes never put out a fast 6'4 WR.

Here are sliders I am using.

PLAYER SKILL
QB Accuracy: 40
Pass Blocking: 50
WR Catching: 65
Run Blocking: 50
Fumbles: 40
Pass Defense Reaction Time: 50
Interceptions: 35
Pass Coverage: 50
Tackling: 45

CPU SKILL
QB Accuracy: 40
Pass Blocking: 50
WR Catching: 65
Run Blocking: 55
Fumbles: 40
Pass Defense Reaction Time: 50
Interceptions: 35
Pass Coverage: 50
Tackling: 45

CPU never has pressure I like to keep sliders equal for cpu and human. Might just lower it to 43 for both. I have too much time to throw as well.

Prob shouldn't tweak sliders. Seems to throw it out of wack.

Re: Armor & Sword's All Pro Custom Simulation (15 Min Quarters) Style Sliders

If we control all 32 teams, can we assign custom playbooks to the coaches, to be used be CPU in games?
I just want a hockey and football game where I can spend more time playing my seasons then I spend changing my sliders.

No....which is frankly number 1 on my "want list" for M17....

To clarify, there is some sort of two controller workaround for this...search the forum. However, you cannot do this from the coach scheme menu.
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

So apparently on my tablet I'm unable to download the spreadsheet to help me determine which players to re-sign or let go. Using the random number method how should I go about this? 0-50 they sign 51-100 they walk? I almost feel that players 85 and above I should use 0-69 they re-sign 70-100 they walk. Any ideas anyone?

It's your universe. Use whatever you feel will enhance your CFM.

I am now in year 4 and I am going to employ a rule from the SOS league. But with a twist.

They use a 3+1 where you pick just 3 players to resign and 1 to franchise tag.

I am going to expand that to 5+1 and for the 5 players. I pick whoever I want to franchise tag (no random number for that) and whomever I want to resign. I can then create story-lines for star players walking if let's say:

Dez Bryant leaving Dallas to play for a winning team as he wants one more shot at a Super Bowl.

Or

Andrew Luck looks to go west to play for the Raiders (whom by the way lost Derrick Carr in free agency in my current CFM to the Washington Redskins!!!).

It's your world. Do whatever makes it fun for you.

I have a great feeling CFM is going to get a lot of love for us solo/32 team offline guys on Madden 17.

I remember in 05 they had that bar that showed how interested a player was. I had a house rule where every team going after an FA had to offer the same amount, unless you were a bottom 5 team, then you got to increase the amount by up to 15%. That way, you had 5 or 6 teams offering the same contract and it was up to the player, and his desires, to choose where to sign. Led to some real awesome off season stories.

That's a great idea. And very well put. "Its our universe". So far I have created a few trades and watched other players stick with their teams and also move on. This is the most fun I've had with madden. Still the only problem is the CPU has yet to sign a player on its own but I'm told they don't make moves until more injuries occur which is way more realistic. Before I took control of the full 32 it seemed the CPU was signing to many players. I do hope though that the CPU makes a signing on its own to put my mind at ease.

In season when injuries occur I handle all pick-ups for the other teams due to injury issues. I check the injury list each week. If it is a season ending injury I will IR the player and go to the free agent list for said position.

I then generate a random number 0-50 they sign their first priority if not we generate another number for their second choice etc etc until a number 0-50 comes up to sign a player.

How often does the cpu teams sign random players in your cfm?
