Parrying seems the same to me. Just had to get used to using R2 to block the body instead of the old layout.Comment

Re: EA Sports UFC 2 Beta Available, Post Your Impressions Here
I assume the UT Matchmaking isn't exact at this point in time? I created a CAF and immediately jumped online. All lvl one moves. All basic strikes. The guy who bear me was actually terrible but one head kick put me in danger. I would light him up standing but couldn't hurt him at all. Once he figures this out he just walked forward.
Hopefully in the full game they match you up with other low lvl fighters to begin.Comment

I can finally block 2 out of 5 transitions. I don't like the ground game at all.
Why not make it more approachable?
how long do you think it would take the average person to be competent on the ground?
not just know how to get up.
will they have ko mode online? cause i bet thats what most will playComment

I'm guessing I haven't played long enough to get the packs that raise the attributes. Had to leave it alone because it was getting ridiculous how swiftly I was getting knocked out.
Strictly single player against the A.I. at this point trying to build coins up, but I doubt I'll be able to play enough to make a significant change before the beta ends. Its cool, I got something for you knuckleheads once the full version is released!!!!Comment

Yea, I thought it was just me. I'm severely outmatched now and wondering how in the world these guys have their fighters beefed up like they do. On top of that, they're all 6'1 with 75" reach!!

Once the full version is out some guys will just drop a bunch of money to buy a monster. It's cool I'm still having fun with it.Comment

Re: EA Sports UFC 2 Beta Available, Post Your Impressions Here
It's a fun game but still extremely clunky. There isn't a sense of freedom, and everything ultimately feels canned. The transitions on the ground still feel turned based to me. Hopefully it's a little smoother in the final version. I love how deep the roster seems to be and striking is really fun.Comment

Loving the practice mode...been practicing the ground game a lot. Can hold opponents down a little better but still can't do ground and pound (still can't deny / rabbit punch enough to get the grapple advantage I guess).
Also, practice mode against skilled sparring AI + stamina ON + health ON = no time limit fight to the finish haha.
Would be great if they let us still play the offline portions after the beta is over, because I don't want to go back to the first game.Comment

Re: EA Sports UFC 2 Beta Available, Post Your Impressions Here
This is just brutal to watch. 1) The Johnny user has ZERO clue how to block or parry 2) Thompson throws an INSANE amount of kicks including spinning kicks and he is still over half full of stamina at the end, I really hate seeing this.

Re: EA Sports UFC 2 Beta Available, Post Your Impressions Here
It's just young gamers want a fast paced game, full of comebacks, spam super moves and **** like that. Nothing wrong with it, but it's a shame such a beautiful game doesn't get the heart to call itself Simulation. For me, the nearly perfect usage of stamina was in UFC 3 ( simulation mode ) by THQ.Comment

This isnt directed at you but one thing I find frustrating about some people judging the grappling system is that people arent even trying to go to practice mode or turn learn the controls before jumping in. Then they talk about how they dont understand how to do things.
Its a common complaint and its can be resolved by simply reading the controls and spending a little time in practice mode. If you dont understand how the grappling system works, GPD wrote a long blog that explains it in detail.Comment

I respect your opinion but I dont even know how thats possible especially given that you can see each person going different animations at the same time.
