Re: EA Sports UFC 2 Beta Available, Post Your Impressions Here
I was just going to ask if they made submissions harder this year, but then i was able to sub Demina Maia with Gunnar Nelson during practice on skilled free sparring, so i don't know anymore.
My ground game is starting to come along really well, since all i've been able to do is practice against the CPU. Side control might be overpowered, i use side control a lot and throw elbows from there. I think it might be the easiest position to deny a transition. I've finished the computer about 6 times from side control today already, mostly using Johny Hendricks vs CPU Robbie Lawler.
I still think some of the denial windows are a little too quick, and near impossible to stop, but i think i'll be fine regardless with my ground game, just like in UFC 1.
But my stand up, like UFC 1, is still pretty sub par. I couldn't hang with CPU Lawler in stand up at all with Johnny Hendricks, parried just about everything i threw. It's a lot easier against CPU Maia, using Gunnar Nelson. And when i play online, i can't handle those who spam jabs and mix up body and head shots. Even leg kicks, i got TKO'd once online by leg kicks in the first round, after the guy threw like 135 strikes in the first 4 minutes of the fight, probably at least 85 of them being leg kicks.
Anyone have any tips on stand up? Especially against people spamming jabs/straights?
