Re: NBA 2K16: Two-Man Interactions You Hate

When my defender can give me a flying knee kick going for a Ill advised block , and the game instead of calling the foul, will make me act like I just got shot, stumble around , make it where I can't do anything, and then I lose ball or I get a shot clock violation .

    Wtf?

      1) When your player gets hung up on/sucked into a pick for no reason. This is probably the worst to me. You will be playing defense and a player is setting a pick 5 feet behind you and you slide back and take 10 seconds (slight exaggeration) to fight around the pick, leaving the ball handler open. Also, I hate when the ball handler leads you into the pick and you get hung up on it and they reverse direction and have a wide open lane to the basket. This is more for human opponents. I even use it sometimes too but I think it's cheap.

      2) When you play great defense and force a contested shot but your AI controlled teammate that's nearby also contests the shot, allowing the other team to get an easy offensive rebound put back. Maddening

      3) When you get blocked or get the ball poked loose your player just loses all coordination for a few seconds and you can't get the ball back. This is especially frustrating against the computer because when it happens to them they react super quickly and get the ball back every time.

Animation dunks have to go. Its dumb to have a action that is guranteed 2 pts in the result every time

I hate that majority of the foul animations are overly aggressive. People don't often throw defensive position to the wind and clobber someone. People usually foul on the midst of at least trying to appear not to.

The weird off-ball defender/pick man interactions... and the on ball defender/off-ball defender interactions. ughh

Or someone running pass your dribble hand brushing on the ball and nothing happens, doesn't matter if its a teammate or a deffender, if somebody hits the ball you should lose it, bottom line.

Be good enough to see it coming and cross over to the other hand
I think you need to watch the video in the post.

The defender literally ran into him after a late recovery off the pick. In the second vid, what you're saying makes sense, but you shouldn't be losing the ball from a defender simply colliding with the ball.

Man, there are so many that it's hard to choose from (I have about 12gb of 10-15 sec clips that show proof of bad animations + AI). If I have to narrow it down, it would have to be the layup/dunk animations. More specifically, the speed and choice of shot. Fast guards constantly lay the ball up or dunk as if they are doing a drill. Bigs sometimes fly to the rim like a guard or take a full 2 seconds to rev up a dunk and get blocked from a player that reached through their back and got to the ball. 2K doesn't realize that those are fouls. If a player averages .2 blocks a game, it's okay to make their block rating 25 and have every block attempt miss or foul the offensive player...you know what, I'll stop here because I can write an essay about how poor this game is.

Ahh man Ahh man the no steal steal is something I personally dislike, the percentage of it goes up late in games and if you use pick and roll alot, the AI-puts the body of the defender right on the ball, the double team steals go up even if you beat the double ,I play alot- good dribble or not-the ball wrap through any animation until you hit the paint, honestly for me it's like a challenge I know is coming like GSW lol makes it more playable for me especially on hall a fame setting in my playoffs.

Yes fix all of these please and those I can't sprint animations because the defender is behind you causing a contact animation.

I get 4-5 turnovers because the CPU runs into the ball and I loss the ball.

Add the in and out violations that is never called: the player takes theball out passes it in to only have that player take it out again. It slows down the game to allow the defense to get back and set up.

                      Mine's related to the suction.

Being a center, I get into the post, my defender further out than me, and I realize my feet are in the paint, so I hit R2 to try to sprint out of the paint--but I'm stuck there, and I get called for a 3-second violation before I can get loose.

I'm not even holding L2 when I realize this.

I find that the computer plays man to man defense in a way that the human user cannot. I understand that they put emphasis on anticipating your opponents moves in order to play good man to man D, but they are very unforgiving on the fact that in real life, good defenders can make up good ground if taken out of position. I also hate the fact that a cpu defender can still be facing the opposite direction and steal a pass. It's as if they programmed that animation to activate when you press the pass button and has become an annoyance for quite sometime.

To add to this the acceleration for centers are absolutely terrible. I've been in that situation where I'm about to get called 3 seconds and my big barely moves...the movement for centers are god awful in the park. The park just made me hate the movement system for this game.....turning your center around is another damn chore....then there's the back peddling that you can't break out of. So much for maxing out athleticism if he moves like Gheorghe Mureșan.

Surprisingly though I can move my center better playing pro-am but I don't want to play 4 quarters.

OT: Only two man animations that I see that needs to be toned down are the fouls.

The awful attempted poster dunk one is by far the worst. So many big momentum changing moments have been ruined for me by having someone like LeBron get morphed into that animation and end up throwing the ball over the rim.

Another one is when the big clips or bumps into one of the guards in transition or in early offence and ends up just stationery for a second or two while his man cuts to the hoop for an easy bucket. Awful.

There's also a couple of **** ones in the post, particularly one where your player gets sucked into this weird hook shot where his head is side on to the hoop and he basically throws it up there. I find Tim Duncan useless at times in the post, because unlike in real life where he rolls his arm around defenders to get a layup in, or shoot a hook, he is instead forced into weird contact shots.

Suction really needs to go. No other sports game has this level of suction BS. Meetings at the ring between players should be like a chess match. You should be able to utilise floaters, runners, push off moves (Tony Parker's favourite), euro steps, change of hand layups etc witout having to be free of any defenders. On defence it should be the same too. You shouldn't get sucked into fouling almost every time, you should be able to have a lot more control over how your man defends a man attacking the basket, he shouldn't be forced to foul, jump ten feet in the air or swat for the ball every time.

Right now on offence, guys like Harden or Manu feel completely useless at the basket because unless you get sucked into foul animations they're prone to getting sucked into weird looking layup animations which have little chance of going in. The craftiness of their moves which helps them to glide by and in-between players in real life is horrible captured in this game.

Likewise on defence where guys like Olajuwon, Garnett etc turn into fouling machines on defence because they can't make the subtle moves they make in real life to destroy pick and rolls, contest shots without fouling etc.
