"Borrowing" an Idea from NBA2K(Re: Passing)

I've been playing a fair bit of NBA2K recently and one feature struck me as obvious for the NHL series.

When you have the puck, and are holding any direction on the left analog stick, the player who you will pass to if pass is pressed at that moment has the ground underneath them faintly highlighted.

Very simple idea, but would make for a lot less "I didn't want to pass there". Further more, NBA uses this idea because the accuracy of the pass should be based on how skilled the passer is, and not being off by 3 degrees on the analog stick.

    Thoughts?

I'm all about making the passing target more obvious. Borrowing a different idea in addition to that would be even better...the targeted passing. I don't know if that's the official name but you can click LB/L1 (I think...or maybe it's RB/R1) and then icons appear over your teammates heads. Select the icon you want and that's who the pass goes to. It feels a little more choppy so I don't use it all that often but it helps me make sure that a slight twitch on the thumbstick doesn't suddenly change my target.

This was also present in 2K's NHL series way back in the day and I loved it. Made it much easier to cycle the puck.
