I've been stalking this dynasty for awhile now and I thought I'd recover my old OS account to tell you great job! I'm really enjoying this dynasty. I really love the fact you've put people from the forums in as coaches, it's a unique side story to follow.

Hopefully the game against Kansas gives you a chance to work out some of the kinks in the secondary/defensively and you can make charge towards a division title. I know it is all cyclical, but the East definitely seems weaker than the West in your Big 12.

I've actually run plays like that in the past, but I only ran it in a hunch this time. I figured since there was no way I-Jax would reach the end zone for a pass in the crowd, we might as well try our hand with one receiver and more space. I can't believe Harris was left with only one defender though -- no doubt we lucked into the win that time. If we run that play 100 times I bet we only convert once or twice.

My only concern about Rivero is his durability. I obviously need to be more careful running him more than 10 times a game, but he is indeed very dynamic. The crazy thing about I-Jax is that in six or seven career games, he has three fourth quarter comebacks. I think that is more than any other QB in the dynasty's history.

You aren't wrong on the lack of strength in the East either. When I set these divisions up, I did so thinking that Iowa State had had a few good seasons, West Virginia and Kansas State were always good, Houston would be competitive in a year, and Kansas was .... Kansas. I never imagined that the division would be that weak. It was a three horse race last year with us, WVA and Houston (who ultimately won the conference). But it does help us this year.. beating West Virginia could very well be the edge we need to win the division and move on to the CCG.

That would be nice... considering we roughed up on Kansas last year there's no reason to believe we can't do it again. I'll chalk our defensive performance up to an air raid offense that wore out our secondary, but even then it is still inexcusable. I'm expecting more of a run focused Kansas team, so I'm looking to forward to seeing what we've got.

Thanks for dropping in! CAC started as a crazy idea to put coaches from other prominent (at the time) college dynasties like Sam Freday from RT's old Bowling Green dynasty and kswgrad's Kaelyn Willingham from Tulane, almost done as a joke...never would I have thought we now have twenty some-odd coaches along with us. I really enjoy writing up the scores and recaps each week and I'm pulling for everyone to get a head coaching job soon... the way some teams have been playing this year we can have multiple new head coaches come next year.

CAC Sign-Ups are two or three pages back, for anyone still looking to sign up. There is no deadline yet, but I don't want people to forget that the sign-ups are released for next season.

Re: We have a football team too... Guru's UConn Huskies (NCAA 14)

Name: Brett Favre(If it's okay to be an actual ex-NFL player, I chose Favre since he has actually coached offensive in high school in real life, but if you'd rather not do a former player for a created coach I can change the name)
            Age: 50
            Skin Color: Light
            Body Size: Small
Head: I don't think there's a very accurate head for Brett, but try for an older looking man
            Apparel: Polos
            Hat/Glasses (Optional): None
            Alma Mater: Southen Miss
            Offensive Philosophy/Playbook: WVU's playbook
Offensive Run/Pass Ratio: 65-35 in favor of the pass
Defensive Philosophy/Playbook: A highly aggressive play caller on defense, as for playbook, any aggressive 43 playbook will do.
Defensive Run/Pass Ratio: 60/40 in favor of the pass
            Specialty: Offense
Additional Info: Prefers to run a faster paced offense. I would also like for him to start with a job near Mississippi or Wisconsin, but it's not a must have for him.

Also picking Favre reminds me, how has Kurt Warner done as a coach lately in college? Lol

Re: We have a football team too... Guru's UConn Huskies (NCAA 14)

              Hungover

UConn blown out by unsuspecting 1-5 Kansas; Rivero tweaks ankle on opening play, misses first half; I-Jax horrendous in first action after miracle finish last week

Turnovers were the name of the game for UConn; eight in all.

After an emotional high and a 14 point swing in 23 seconds last week, the 16th ranked UConn Huskies went into Lawrence, Kansas hoping to work out the kinks against a 1-5 Jayhawk squad that is undergoing another tough season and keep their playoff hopes alive. Only problem? Kansas was coming off a bye and UConn forgot to show up, getting absolutely destroyed, 46-24.

A complete lack of offense and a grand total of eight turnovers forced by the Jayhawks were the key cogs for the UConn loss in this one. Jarrett Rivero was slated to start for UConn after a good outing last week, but mysteriously exited after UConn’s first play of the game, sending in Isaac Jackson for the first three quarters. While nothing was finalized, it is believed that Rivero tripped over Luke Williamson on a handoff and tweaked his ankle after complaining of pain thereafter. Rivero would get iced and wrapped (tape was noticed near his foot upon return), his mobility was tested on the sidelines and he returned to the game in the third quarter.

Unfortunately for Rivero, the damage had been long done with Jackson in the game. Last week’s hero looked merely mortal in this outing, his day plagued with poor throws and multiple turnovers. Luckily for him, he wasn’t the only factor in the loss.

Despite being stopped twice at the start of the game on offense, Kansas found alternative methods to score early. Following a fumble from Jayhawk tailback Shentran Quinn with Kansas closing on the end zone, stud linebacker McCoy Bridges returned the favor, as he drilled Williamson and popped the ball free. Kino Salantines recovered, and after another strong Husky defensive stand, Sam Shelten kicked a field goal for a 3-0 lead.

Things started to snowball after that. Following a sack, I-Jax made a horrible, wobbly throw to Ryne Thomas in the flats. As a result, Anthony Roblenstain jumped in front and returned it all the way for a 9-0 Kansas lead. (EDIT: Shelten missed the PAT. Should've been 9-0.)

Anthony Roblenstain's pick-six made the lead 9-0 and kicked the rout into gear.

Kansas would eventually jump out to a 23-0 lead as the mistakes and missed opportunities continued to pile up for UConn. Jackson’s errant passes ruined multiple drives, Carlton Parker muffed a punt (luckily he recovered), Williamson couldn’t get anything going on the ground. At the same time, Kansas cashed in on the fantastic play of junior QB Alston Trent all day long. He threw two TD passes in the first half, one to Kay’Sena Holt and the other to Patrick Gutierrez, to give the Jayhawks the 23-3 advantage at the half.

In desperate need of a turnaround, UConn got the ball after the half and went right back to their first half habits. A fumble recovered by Kansas at the UConn 18 led to another Kansas TD, a pass from Trent to Gutierrez to extend the lead to 30-3.

Rivero returned to action midway through the third inheriting a 33-3 deficit. The game was well out of reach and it was clear he was forcing some throws, however, his dynamic play on the ground helped UConn at least look more respectable. Rivero was responsible for engineering a trio of touchdown drives, throwing for one and handing off for the other two, and that made the final a little more respectable at 46-24. However, that doesn’t take away the poor play all around for the second consecutive week.

UConn as a team committed 8 turnovers, and the defensive secondary was torched once again by arguably the worst quarterback we’ve seen all season in Trent.

The sudden defensive struggles are really concerning and disappointing to Coach Diaco, someone who prides himself on his defensive prowess. A surprisingly calm Diaco addressed the media after the game.

“It sucks. We had a good chance three weeks ago to make a run at the Playoff, but we are obviously well out of the picture now. Our offense was great with Jarrett in, but I don’t know what happened with Isaac. He looked completely rattled. It’s just a matter of keeping Jarrett healthy now, which seems impossible to do.”

“I don’t know what’s happened defensively”, Diaco continued. “It’s like someone flipped a switch and we can’t defend receivers anymore. I get that that kid [Kansas WR Marcellos] Horn is really fast, but that’s why I leave a safety back there to help in our 3-4 man packages. It’s on me to find a fix though. That could mean playing with lineups, or trying a new package. I want to keep running a 3-4, but it almost feels like we need to do something completely different.”

With the loss, the 16th ranked Huskies will almost certainly fall out the Top 25 and watch their Playoff dreams fade away for good. Kansas assumes command of the Big 12 East by virtue of tiebreaker, as West Virginia and UConn are all tied at 2-2 in conference play.

UConn will return to The Property next week to face Kansas State (3-4, 0-3). The Wildcats lost 45-38 to Oklahoma this week.

Jake Crowder's nice INT was one of the very few bright spots for UConn.

Also picking Favre reminds me, how has Kurt Warner done as a coach lately in college? Lol
Awesome! That's absolutely OK by me, thanks for filling out a form! My intent with adding Warner as a coach was to get other prominent ex-college and NFL players in the game, but with so many CAC's I haven't gotten to do that yet. This is great you've elected to go this route.

With Warner at Oklahoma State, hopefully he can keep it up and become a head coach soon. Now that you've got me thinking about this again, look for some new defensive coordinators this offseason....

Wow. I don't think any of us saw that coming. Your quarterback situation is all sorts of screwed up right now, and your lack of a run game didn't help either. It's going to be a long rest of the season if Diaco can't find a consistent guy to stick under center

                      1) That Ohio State game. While thrilling for you, for me it was...well...

I think my UAB team has proven that false.

I didn't expect it either, we just got beat from start to finish. Kansas came out of their bye ready to play, and took it to us. We had nothing going on offense all day long, which really surprised me. I didn't realize until after that Kansas was starting all upperclassmen, 7 seniors and 4 juniors.

At least we know Rivero is the guy at QB, but we just need to keep him healthy, which seems nearly impossible to do. Got to get more out of Williamson also, but I think he'll turn that corner soon. I think he's done fine in replacement duty, except today of course.

As for Favre, Harlee, this is only the calm before the storm I'm afraid. I have a feeling we'll be seeing many more of these ex-NFLers by request or my design. Manning could very much be heading somewhere in the near future.

I still don't know how we won that Ohio State game. Haha. Hasn't deterred their season too badly, but it has kept us from going sub-.500 though.

For Wazzu, I think your starting tailback has been out the past few weeks (don't quote me on that), so that would no doubt slow down your offense. Keep your head up, there are a bunch of young guys who will be playing and making your team better before long!

Very sloppy play and results from us, indeed. Just so much inconsistency personnel wise, it's been hard to develop a rhythm. Hopefully we can hang on enough to get to a decent bowl game. I'll be happy with 8-4 at this point.

And yes, we need to remove Kansas from the pole in the East standings. Just shows you how brutally awful the division is this year.

Thanks for checking in everyone! Hang in there with me, updates will slow a little bit again. Looking to finish up the season soon.

I'm really interested to see what other former NFLers might start coaching the in the college game, especially defensively since there's a lot more offensive coaches then created coaches for D. I could imagine Ray Lewis, especially if Miami were to need a new DC in the near future. Maybe even some older school guys like John lynch. But even more than that I'm excited to see if UConn can get over all the outside noise and finish off strong this year!

Tough to give up 46 points when you allow less than 300 yards, but I can't really blame the defense for that though. Almost impossible to overcome eight turnovers.

Kansas can definitely surprise you from time to time in this game. I had offline dynasties in NCAA 13 and 14 with Baylor and I could never win at Kansas, and only won once at KSU for that matter. What it is about that state? They seem to pull off upsets when you least expect them.
