I don't think I have the time to realistically play all 82, so I am looking for ideas on a sim strategy. e.g. only play division games, only play every third game etc. What do you guys do?

How many games do you play / Sim Strategy
I am just curious, for those who play MyLeague or MyGM, how many games you actually play out of an 82 game schedule. If you don't play them all, what is your Sim strategy?

Re: How many games do you play / Sim Strategy
In NBA 2K15, between July and October, I did a MyLeague with Golden State, and played almost every game (12 minute quarters at Superstar and later HOF) in an 82-game season and in the playoffs. (My Warriors beat the Cavs to win the championship in 5 games.)I am just curious, for those who play MyLeague or MyGM, how many games you actually play out of an 82 game schedule. I did this despite a pretty demanding day job and a pretty demanding woman! It was so personally rewarding to do it.

Re: How many games do you play / Sim Strategy
I would love to do that, just not sure I have time. I am a teacher, parent and a grad student. I played all 162 games in The Show many years ago and lost in game 7 of the World Series..... Horrible feeling lol. I wish NBA 2K would include a Franchise transfer from year to year like The Show does. That would make me want to play all 82 games for sure.In NBA 2K15, between July and October, I did a MyLeague with Golden State, and played almost every game (12 minute quarters at Superstar and later HOF) in an 82-game season and in the playoffs. Re: How many games do you play / Sim Strategy
Since 2K doesn't have year to year saves and I want to experience at least some of the future, I probably play a little over half the games. Maybe 50.
While it's a factor for me to do just what I said, see some of the future, the reset with each game release makes me rush a bit which is the last thing I want to do.
I love playing as many games as possible for the realistic factor. I like the day to day management (something I hope 2K improves upon) but at the same time I want to experience some of what the game has for me beyond the current year.
So, about 50 games.
Enjoy.

I remember guys that use play all the games. Beast mode in my opinion. I would play a few match ups. And that's it.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: How many games do you play / Sim Strategy
I could never play 82 games because i love playing as other teams in my own myleague. Ill play one game a week from my own teams sched and then play the best matchup of that week in the league/most intriguing based on league storyline. I flip a coin for the team and randomly pick a position to player lock from pieces of paper in my hat. Funny enough it actually helps me scout certain players that im forced to play with. I feel its the best way for me to be fully immersed into the league as a fan, watching the storylines for every team, as a scout playing with people id never really play as, as a coach simulating/strategizing mins , and finally just playing the game.Comment

Re: How many games do you play / Sim Strategy
I play the first 10 games (sometimes 5 games if I want to get through a season quicker) of the season, then I put the rest of my schedule in a spreadsheet and put it in 4 games blocks. Of those blocks I pick which game that I want to play.
I use super sim in the games that I don't start and intervene late in the game if it's close.
It normally takes me about 2 months (including playoffs) to get through a season. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Totally agree... I even skip season sometimes. There are saves that I might play through the whole year(one season). Re: How many games do you play / Sim Strategy
That's the great thing about 2k... They give us a ton of options to play however we want. There's no right or wrong way it's totally up to the user. You can go at your own pace and it can really get whatever you want out of your MyLeague. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: How many games do you play / Sim Strategy
I generally play one game per "week" of the season. Sometimes, I'll skip a week or two just to speed things up. I also play on 12-min quarters but will simLive parts of the game to speed things up, too. Something rewarding to me about seeing realistic stats or dropping myself in the middle of a tight game or big deficit and have to work things out.PSN: JWGoNDComment

Re: How many games do you play / Sim Strategy
I played a whole season in 2k14 with the Clippers. Only to lose the finals in 5 to Miami. Smh. This year, my approach has been playing most games. I usually sim a couple divisional games like the 2nd and 3rd meeting with the Suns or Kings..& maybe only play 1 game against easy knockoffs like say the Nets or Philly. All & all, i might play a good 80% of the games.Comment

Re: How many games do you play / Sim Strategy
I play all the games this year with my Lakers. Am one month behind real-life but it's the other way around with them in my MyLeague.
First in conference. It's weird that GSW are struggling but after exchanging Wilson Chandler to Iggy they are doing better - 15-2 since the trade IIRC.
I implemented Triangle and it really made my life easier because it creates a lot of open jumpers/layups for my team - especially with 7 talented playmakers on my team who can dish out to anyone/anywhere on the floor.
I have three starting sets in the half court and just go with what is presented to me by the defense. I really get the most out of my players.
I also implemented 2012' Pacers defense since I have Hibbert/Upshaw/Brand as my center trio - all of them are slow footed but good to great rim and post protectors and I hedge everything middle so they contest most of the shots.
I should be the coach of LALakers.Comment
