Re: Battle Royal is draft Champs
These boards seem to get bitter about anything "ultimate team". Didn't some of you guys collect baseball cards when you were younger?
It is a fun mode and can be played online or offline and against your friends.
I definitely will be a franchise guy, but this is the only ultimate team mode I do enjoy. Props to SDS for being innovative and working hard this year to get us another great title!Comment

Re: Battle Royal is draft Champs
Hoping this is a way to play with your DD team in offline games. I like playing online they improved the servers and online gameplay but with my mediocre wifi it's easier to play offline games but random games against CPU teams isn't as fun as this sounds like it will be if it's your DD team. Re: Battle Royal is draft Champs
I enjoyed DD when it was mostly fictional players. If they'd had kept that concept and made it much much MUCH harder to build a stacked team, the mode would be great.
From there, I'd have added in a league feature for DD so you and some friends could play each other in a mini season like they have used in the past.@MikeLowe47 | YouTube | Discord

Re: Battle Royal is draft Champs
Once again, sounds cool but nothing that will last long for me. Maybe a casual drive by, but not my cup of tea. At this point into the future, anything short of an exspansion mode and I'm just gonna be locked into franchise mode.PSN: OverPar8Comment

Single player online meaning you play others online but you you can't have two players on one team it's only you vs the other guyComment

Re: Battle Royal is draft Champs
Honestly this is basically what I expected draft champions was a fun way to use cards you couldn't afford or test them out I'm madden before buying so I'm excited for it in the show.
Conquest seems cool hopefully there is a reward for beating it like a flashback or something.
This mode is becoming everything I hoped for especially since 2ks my team sucked this year this gives me a great alternative to MUTComment

Re: Battle Royal is draft Champs
I think all these "franchise-got-shafted-because-all-resources-are-put-into-cash-grab-modes-like-DD" accusations are misguided...
People quickly forget how unpopular DD (or online in general) was just a couple years ago... people rarely talked about the mode, and aside from a small group of enthusiasts (who mostly frequented in The Show Nation forum, not OS), the mode wasn't receiving as much a traction as the developers hoped. I occasionally checked how many games were being played in DD, it was quite shocking to see the activity level was usually as low as that of online leagues. (In MLB 15, it consistently far outnumbered both online-rated and online leagues.)
I think that the fact that the devs still kept trying to make DD work, and finally made it a smashing success last year, actually tells us that their resource isn't only on where the money is. Now with the success, they may have generated enough extra to subsidize other areas of game that could use more attention even...
I, too, find it kind of sad that what it took to bring DD to a great success was some sort of card-game type mechanism that often employed by mobile gaming companies in it for cash grabbing (instead of continuing to pursue the direction of rather cumbersome yet quite creative mode it used to be), but people responded strongly and it is a good thing overall. DD is not really meant for sim-style audience anyways, and I think it is a great thing that there is an additional way of enjoying the game.
Who knows, now that online is very playable finally, it might become time to enhance the (online) franchise mode with things that can only be done when connected online...Comment

And it makes sense from a business perspective. Once one pack is bought in DD it makes more then Franchise/RTTS. Add in all the new card types, and packs and enchancements and this mode is going to generate a lot of money for SCEA.Comment
