Rory McIlroy PGA Tour: Oakmont CC Review (Video)

A couple of days ago, EA Sports added the 2016 home of the US Open to Rory McIlroy PGA Tour: Oakmont Country Club.

There's a lot to like about this new course -- which hosted its first US Open in 1927.

First, the greens present a very tough challenge with some incredibly difficult breaks to manage. Secondly, the elevation and length variety amongst each hole is some of the best in the game.

Be sure to check out my full video review above, all in all I give Oakmont a big thumbs up.

Not sure I understand the rating system if there's " a lot to like" and it gets a 5.

I was a bit underwhelmed by the addition of Oakmont. Just didn't do much for me.

Then I played it, and it really jogged my memory on what a challenge it can be. Got a couple rounds in yesterday there, great challenge. Looks great too.

        It's a fantastic addition.

I'll be curious to see during season mode if they plan to have Oakmont replace Chambers Bay as the US Open course and make Chambers Bay just some other stop on the season ... or if they're not able to make that type of a change to the seasons and rather Oakmont is simply added as a season stop.

Well the reader score is a 6 so I'm guessing you're wrong. Maybe the score posted is for the actual game upon release.

This is what I hoped for as well...I wanted EA to implement a rotation with Chambers Bay/Oakmont for the US Open, and Royal Troon/St Andrews for the British Open.

However, I saw on the EA forum that someone simulated a few Career Mode seasons, and Oakmont simply becomes a stop on the Tour - it hosts the "Pittsburgh Invitational" right before the FedExCup Playoffs, apparently.

The reader score is on a scale of 1-10 I believe.
His scale for the Oakmont add is on a 1-5 scale.
Two totally different scales I believe.
