Free agent sign then trade?

I just watched the franchise mode stream again and noticed that a player signed a big contract and then was immediately traded. My question is will this be fixed and if not does it rarely happen in the game?

I've seen it happen too frequently for my likes. I do 30 team control and have reversed trades that didn't seem right.

That and the same player being traded multiple times in a season bothers me.

Isnt there a rule that you cant trade someone you sign till May or June?

If the player consents to the trade it can happen.

or how about the "this player is not signed to a contract and cannot be traded" that a huge problem as well, Im praying thats gone

I do 30 team control as well, but I put the trades on delay instead of instant. This way I can check the pending trades every day so I can prevent the trades from happening.

You could turn the trade frequency slider all the way down so no team would do any trading.

I've never done 30 team control, but this might intrigue me to. So teams will trade on their own but you stop them if too wonky? How often do you check the pending trades list?

Yes, that is correct. You can check as frequently as you want. Some do it after every game, some do it once a week or at the trade deadline. It's basically up to the user and how often they want to check.

30 team control is the way to go. It literally takes 5 seconds to cycle through to see if any crazy trades are offered. It allows you to be the commissioner over the league but you don't have to worry about the everyday stuff.

30 team control also offers a workaround for the "player isn't signed to a contract" trade issue.

Last year I stopped using the trade delay option because of the bug where the cpu would pull trades. After the patch there would be only a few trades per season when trade delay was set to on.

Maybe that is where that "trade frequency slider" "New" comes into play. Maybe they had it close to the "Max". But great question...
