Re: ground and pound too op
I've yet to fight anyone who landed significant shots on me when I'm on the ground. Not saying that these type of players don't exist, but I don't find ground and pound overpowered at all. You have a lot of options at your disposal to defend yourself.Comment

Re: ground and pound too op
not saying that this works everytime but if i hit you with some good body shoots and the takedown follows i need about 5seconds to get into full mount. of course you don t finish everybody but loosing rounds by getting 2-3 times a round on top and get at least one advanced position is very hard. every striker is absoloutly ****ed against grapplestyle-players like me (greets to conor)Comment

Re: ground and pound too op
Punching and kicking is easy. Transitioning are easy. GA is a new concept for MMA game players. Transition denials are probably the most challenging thing in this game.
I'm not surprised that you are going straight to mount and winning via GNP so much. I can do the same. However, it's day 2 for most of the population. People learn things at different speeds. Not too many players are even decent on the ground yet.
I think we need to let this play out for a few weeks before claiming that GNP is OP.Comment

Re: ground and pound too op
I dont have a problem with crucifix being automatic because in real life....it is pretty much automatic. Your arms are pinned back and its hard to transition.
The only position I struggle with is back sitting because good players can stall you out by blocking transitions and going for subs.Comment

Re: ground and pound too op
I agree with Pappy and Aholbert. GnP is not OP as far as I can tell. I had a 5 round war Holm vs Tate, we both knew the ground game & it became a chess match.
I also finished a fight last night from my back, not entirely sure how I did it but I caught his punch and rolled to a arm bar for the win.....it was quick quick with only two gates. I guess since it was a punch counter on the ground.
I'd suggest waiting until you climb up the leaderboards before stating GnP is OP. I believe I finished the night 18-9 last night & ended in Division 3.Last edited by Phobia; 03-17-2016, 11:57 AM.Comment

Re: ground and pound too op
Don't have the game yet but watched plenty of streams and vids. 90%of ppl online either have no clue what they're doing on the ground or are just mediocre there. I see ppl getting transitioned on and mounted at will. Against guys who are actually good on the ground this impatient style would actually get you reversed...Comment

Re: ground and pound too op
Ground and pound is definitely OP against the CPU. Some AI fighters have been able to defend it well, but most I can just beat in the early stages of round 1 with GNP.
Can't say the same about a human player, if they can defend well, it's DEFINITELY not that easy.Comment

Re: ground and pound too op
Can someone experienced give some tips on defending the ground game. I didn't play the beta. I understand sime of how to transition but sometimes I have trouble blocking or transitioning fast enough. Sometimes I can block the shots other times my hands flail and don't block well with the same button. Also, sometimes I get someone who just lays on top of me and keeps me on the ground the whole match. I am not able to get out. Is face blocking switched on the ground? Sometimes r1 works other times not. Thank you for the help in advance.Comment
