I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I find I get plenty of play out of it, just in the offline modes.

Re: NBA 2K16: MyTeam's Charms Fade Away

I was hooked with Madden Ultimate Team when i first tried it in 25... that is until i actually tried playing with the team i built, even though i was winning the games were terrible, full of cheese, zero realism etc. Havnt touched team building modes in sports game since. It's not worth wasting time and sometimes even money cause at the end of the day the games you will play in MT will be 0 fun.

As someone who plays a TCG at a competitive level, I know and understand what is wrong with 2K's MyTeam model and how to fix it. They THINK they are making big money right now but it's only short-term. Over the last two years I've brainstormed some ideas/modes that would not only save MyTeam but INCREASE revenue (as people would actually have competitive incentive to play it, rather than a casual novelty that hopes to cash in your nostalgia).

Re: NBA 2K16: MyTeam's Charms Fade Away

Seriously I'm not having anyone tell me this game isn't fixed.

I had the 2pt lead over someone and Melo got fouled with 2 seconds left. Both free throws were released perfectly and both went flying off the rim.

He inbounds the ball to harden and I play perfect D on him. He tries to pass but I deflect it. The ball flies and randomly lands in the hands of his David Robinson who instinctively chucks up a contested fadeaway from about 20 feet at the buzzer that goes in.

In overtime his players hit every shot whilst I can get anything. I get rebounds that get juggled and he steals to score. I literally cannot make a single pass, shot or get a wide open easy rebound. The CPU controlled defenders foul and make weird plays. He wins by 4 in OT.

The rubber band effect was so blatent.

          **** 2K.

wait, improved pack odds just lead to juiced up teams for everyone? Essentially it would be a situation like Myplayer where a person can easily spend 30-40 bucks and reign supreme, no?

I don't get the hate. I'm loving this mode this year. Especially after the market crash, now I can finally afford to buy some amethyst players.

Yeah I agree. It has made the mode much more fun, with much more activity in the market, with much less grinding, which has made the mode even more appealing

lol.... I have been playing myteam for about a month. Have not paid any money or used VC. Other than MT earned in the game I got a few cards from mycareer..... Klay, Wall, Lopez etc.... 5 or 6 all up.
Have only played my way through Domination and Historic Domination.

My current lineup has no diamonds, but an all amethyst starting lineup of Kidd, Harden, Pippen, Pettit, A.Davis.
On the bench I have amethyst Durant & M.Malone.... then gold Dr.J, 'nique, rookie Jordan

And I have an amethyst Iverson being auctioned, to make cash for a big new signing.

It's so easy to upgrade your team, I have bought and sold a few other amethyst cards too.... saving for my first diamond now though.

I've said it before and i'll say it again. Please have matchmaking based on team quality. Tired of going against all these flawless teams where every player is 95+ovr. Let me play against other people with realistic teams. That way strategy and user skill counts for something.

I've spend approximately $600 dollars on packs in this year's My Team. Now, it must be noted I have a good team, HOWEVER given ALL the money I've spent the single best pull was 94 Kevin Garnett (80k). You may say, that's good. But in all fairness, I think EVERYONE would submit for that kind of money you better provide me with an ALL-TIME Great Diamond somebody. NOPE. I never pulled a single great Diamond.

What it did was provide me with enough cards I could buy and sell to now have a starting 5 full of diamonds. Is it worth it? Hell No. The mode is very shallow and I will not be doing it again. There's little point. You reach the 1 seed and you're done. The mode DESPERATELY needs to be expanded.

So just beware. If you're spending your hard earned money thinking you are going to pull a bunch of diamond players, YOU MIGHT, but you might not pull one.

If u spent 1/3rd as much to MT sellers you'd have all diamond lineup for sure. That's how things are messed up.

I don't understand those playoffs and other "special occasion" cards. Having an alternative card for same player from the some previous season seems ok , but there is an extra card that is based on one game and kills the use of others. Why there should be diamond 99 playoffs lebron, when there is such thing as dynamic lebron that gets updated within current season + po ?

This mode was awesome this year, most amount of hours I've put into a MyTeam mode but those ridiculous Diamond cards nearly ruined it for me.

Recency bias aside, I honestly think 2k has taken a step back in MyTeam every single year since 2K14. Apologize for the rant but...

                              Moment Cards

The way they have done moments cards this year is simply idiotic. It's clear that they've decided on the card's ovrl first, and fit all attributes around that, which is completely *** backwards. Diamond Ty Lawson, anyone?

For me the essence of the game mode has always been centred around those fun theoretical discussions of "oh, would x lineup of greats win, or would y?" With so many cards given diamonds for the sake of them being a diamond, the credibility of the card rating system is absolutely lost. This sucks a ton of the fun out of the mode for me.

                              Tournaments

What the heck happened to these?? Having tournaments with worthwhile rewards and lineup restrictions were great for the mode in my opinion. These actually gave a purpose to the throwback thursday Rick Foxes and Andre Millers, and challenged you to be creative with your lineups. In 2k16 there is little to no emphasis on team building - the mode is an boring, linear arms race to get the Jordans, Lebrons etc.

That is my biggest problem this year as well. There should never be a Ty Lawson card rated higher than Magic, Larry, Michael etc. Also, the Larry Bird card I would love to have has such ridiculously low speed and acceleration that he looks fairly useless in a mode that emphasizes speed so highly. I know his skill set is hard to replicate but he looks like a barely upgraded Kevin Love. I would like to see the all time great players have more of a significant advantage.
