I used those years because it gave them similar career innings totals, if you want 2012-2014, here you go: http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.asp...rs=0&sort=16,d

That has posey #7 and perez #21 in RPP.

I gave you the most pertinent years, 2013 and 2014.

Now I don't consider RPP the most significant factor, even though Perez was better than Posey in 2013 and 2014. The article I presented with that link is more important to me. Have you read the entire article?

I put more stock in the career stats than 1 article about the 2013 season. His rating is based of career performance, not picking and choosing his best year

Agreed! And hopefully they fixed Jackie Bradley Jr.'s arm strength & throwing accuracy as well.

Perez did not have a full season until 2013. Picking and choosing? 2013 and 2014 is picking and choosing--the first two full seasons in the majors for Perez.

Of course you don't want to look at 2013 and 2014 and see how Perez blocked pitches better than Posey. I can well understand that.

            Have a nice day!

Fangraphs has RPP – The number of runs above / below average a catcher is at blocking pitches.

              .
I'm not all that crazy for RPP either since it takes into account passed balls & I feel PB's should be used in calculating catcher Fielding. But at least it's a positive step in the right direction.

EDIT After more deliberation on the matter the best way to determine a catchers block rating is if blocked pitches were kept as a stat. Then you would calculate BP/WP (Blocked pitches divided by wild pitches).

To be fair, I looked at some ratings last night and saw that Russell Martin had a decent blocking stat, but he is among the worst in RPP.

Lol Bryant is what 85 already and why should Schwarber be a top ten lf?

85 is plenty high enough for Bryant's debut on a default roster. The man's game has plenty room to grow. If he hits over .300 with 30 homers & gets his WAR up to 7 or 8 then bump him into the 90 range. IMO

Curious to see how these Flashback cards get rated. Will Prime cards be rated based on that Prime year or will it still be 3 previous years.

I like seeing this every year before game comes out. Mostly agree with the ratings.

I hope we can all agree that the way defensive ratings are handled is backwards. There's no reason Lindor shouldn't have better defense than tulowitzki

Lindor's fielding% was .974, Tulo has only had 1 season where it was lower than that and only 2 seasons where he's made as many errors (10) as Lindor did. He also has 2 Gold Gloves, you should find a different SS to compare.

Tulo's GG seasons won't be reflected in Show 16. And you can dismiss fielding % too, since that includes throwing errors.

EDIT I think a more likely explanation is Lindor's smaller sample size.
