NBA Player Rating System

I have used the same rating system for the past 6 years. I have learned a lot and tweaked the system to find the most accurate rating system IMO.

As far as rating NBA Players growth, i will not be giving them a potential of 4+ points higher than their given rating. For a player to be given a potential boost of more than 4, they must still be in their rookie contract or under the age of 24. From 24-48 most players will average their highest numbers that they have ever averaged. The only thing that will deter their path is if they have horrifying injuries, traded or they're not currently satisfied with either their teams success, their contract lenght/money or their minutes. Once a player hits 28, they will stagger at their high point for 1-4 years and then they will start to decline each season.

As for their actual Overall, it will be determined on complex stats of how this season played out: (Shot percentages from each spot on the floor, Shot percentages from how far the defender is, Shot percentages off the dribble and on the move and more advanced statistics. That will determine their overall for the ending of the 2015-16 year. Because this is a 2016-17 roster, i will be modifying that to fit their growth or decline.

Rookie Rating System

Rookies will not be rated on where they were drafted. That will have little affect, the only affect is in the rotations I.E: Rookies drafted higher tend to get a little more time then late rookies who have to prove themselves for that time IE: (Ben McLemore lottery pick: 26MPG[rookie year]-20MPG[Now] Draymond Green 2nd Rounder: 13MPG[rookie year] 34MPG[Now])

Potential ratings will be given on a point system this year. Each player rookie starts out with 3 points. For every year a player stayed in college they gain a point (1 for freshmen, 4 for seniors). For every month a player has been number 1 on the mock draft boards (my personal board) they gain 1 point. For every 2 months a player has been in the lottery they gain 1 point. for every 4 months a player has been in our 1st round boards he gains 1 point. For signing a shoe deal before the draft they gain 2 point. For every 2 games missed due to injury they lose 1 point. For every game missed due to suspension they miss 1 point (not including louisville and other teams who were banned from March Madness) So all in all a player has the ability to jump 18 overall points. There will be other conditions that will apply once summer league starts, but most rookies will only gain 3-8 points and with our MyLeague/MyGM Sliders, you really need to take care of your rooks before they hit 24 to ensure they will reach their full potential.

D-League & Undrafted Players for FA Pool

I'll Take Requests via Twitter. I will try to stay updated on the Forum but it gets crazy over the summer so please reach out over twitter.

Slider Sets

All-Star Sliders: Less defense & Fouls, More Offense, Less Injuries

Rookie Showcase Sliders: Same as above

Regular Season Sliders: Basic slider set with increased tendencies and sht values. Also using a real rebounding system that you will sometimes see thee lose ball smacked out to the perimeter for an offensive recover, more tip ups and tip ins, less O-Boards. An Offensive rebounder is a golden ticket and should not be traded lightly.

MyLeague Sliders: Less trades, Teams tend to stick together, not too many big names leaving their teams. Injuries matter: a player will not recover 100% from an injury and multiple injuries will show in the stat line and gameplay
