Re: EA Sports UFC 2 Community Impressions
Just fought a Cerrone who did spinning attacks to the body for 5 rounds. All I could really do is block and parry as much as possible and return fire when I could. I couldnt really reach him much to really work. Ended up winning by unanimous decision on all cards. Most satisfying decision ever lol. Such a boring and frustrating fight.

Re: EA Sports UFC 2 Community Impressions

Re: EA Sports UFC 2 Community Impressions
I havent really played UT but I dont have a problem with huge reach or spammers on Random. I actually enjoy when I see people who spam spin kicks or the MT clinch because that means they probably dont know **** about the ground game and are easy as hell to dominate there.
If you clinch me, all I have to do is block one or two knees to get grapple advantage and then I can take you down from the clinch. If you spin constantly, I just stay on the outside until your stamina drops or I time one of the takedowns so that I catch you mid spin. Since most people dont know how to consistantly block from back side that is an easy KO.
Now I'm only in division 3 so once I get to 4 and higher, you are dealing with skilled players who also use cheesy techniques. But most of the people you face in the community will be the type who only know how to cheese and that is very beatable.
I've lost 5 times and I'm glad to say everytime it has been a loss i deserved.Comment

Re: EA Sports UFC 2 Community Impressions
The stamina is bothering me.
Solo vs cpu, No matter how patient I am and how many significant strikes I land, the cpu never has less stamina than me.
Standing up trading blows if I swing and miss I see a chunk of stamina fall off, cpu swings and misses and it barely moves. Couple that with they swing and miss and I counter with a heavily landed L1 strike and the cpu stamina barely budges.
This affects everything in the game because the cpu remains dangerous even with looking physically wrecked and bleeding all over the canvas, I mean seriously, if Rogan is saying the fight should be stopped after every round and I agree but I look up and see the cpu with 85% stamina...
This means deep in the 5th round the cpu is just as adept at defending and countering because of the stamina still being almost full.
There are ways around this in terms of winning the fight, but a major component of fighting, and the way the majority of fights play out, which is wearing down your opponent and crushing his will, is completely absent.resident curmudgeonComment

the longer the fight the bigger advantage the cpu has.
here's hoping we get some form of patch for stamina offline.Rise of the Sim King (Striving for Sim Supremacy)https://youtu.be/TalUkHIEnOM

Re: EA Sports UFC 2 Community Impressions
Modified attacks not resulting in a larger stamina loss for the CPU is something I was alluding to in my previous post in this thread as a carry over from the FN series. Had the same feeling in Champion that the computer was never punished for the amount of haymakers thrown.
with the Show coming out tuesday, I think I'm going to let UFC sit to the side for a bit until the first patch drops that corrects the computer standing up from dominant positions. Really only the big problem I'm having with the game at the moment.Comment

Re: EA Sports UFC 2 Community Impressions
I'm a bit more impressed with this game than I thought I would be.
Watching people play this online made it look more like Tekken than MMA, with all the spinning kicks and jumping off of the cage.
I have only done the tutorials and about 10 fights in UT, but so far It's actually been pretty enjoyable.
... Of course that can all change when I play against a Jon Jones or McGregor online..::..::::::::.:.:.:.:....:::.:.::::..:.:::....:::: ...:..::."When you're an assassin, you don't have a conscience"-Gilbert ArenasComment

I hate to be "that guy," but I've actually been very impressed with the stamina in singleplayer. I typically like to box and pick my shots, and I regularly out-stamina the CPU.The stamina is bothering me.
