Advantages to created player for DD team
I didn't make one for my DD team last year, it just didn't appeal to me to have a fake player on the team. But I keep hearing you can unlock player cards by feeding cards to your DD created player. What kind of advantages do I get by making one? I also like collecting cards and I know you have to use them to improve your player, so I'm hesitant.Tags: None -
Re: Advantages to created player for DD team
Just because you make your custom player for the feed rewards, doesn't mean you have to use them in your squad. That's what I'm doing at least.
But the advantages are that your custom player can play any position after just a little training. The game markets it as a "player who can fill any hole in your team" type thing. -

You can feed your bronze and common cards to him too. Just giving him lots of those really help too.
He's also very flexible. I find him really useful for double switches if you don't have a bench guyer and he could be one of your better players. I haven't made mine yet because I'm focusing on collections right now.Comment

Re: Advantages to created player for DD team
I'm new to DD (giving it a shot this year while I wait for the OSFM rosters to drop) and am unsure about the importance/benefits of this tool. I decided to go ahead and create him, but as of right now I'm only feeding him duplicates so I can focus on collections.NCAA- Toledo Rockets

Re: Advantages to created player for DD team
You definitely want to create him. I have done 7 collections and the players i dont want i feed him. Also for conquest rewards. i unlocked a 96 a Prince feilder yesterday and you can also get 95 Joey bats, 98 Beltre, 95 berra, 94 Holliday, 95 Pabelbon and many other great players. You have to conquer areas, play a certain amount of innings with players from that team then feed a ton of cards from that team to your player. My DD guy is already a 97 2bComment

Re: Advantages to created player for DD team
I didn't have any interest in playing with a created player last year. So I created a legendary player that was not in the game. Last year I created Vladimir Guerrero because I was always a fan of his growing up. My friend created Ken Griffey Jr. Playing extra inning games against other players I saw people who had created Babe Ruth as well.
Just an idea for people who want make a diamond dynasty player, but don't want to have a "fake player" in their lineup.Comment

Finish the conquest innings missions and then the next mission will be to feed X players to your DD player then you'll get stubs/xp/90+ ovr FB player to go along with it.Last edited by bacon96; 04-04-2016, 11:49 AM.Comment

Re: Advantages to created player for DD team
What I've been doing is selling all pitcher cards that are for teams I don't plan on collecting soon or that are duplicates, as I never plan to use my DD player as a pitcher. For position cards, I check the market price to see what they are going for, if they're going for a decent amount, I sell them; If not, I feed them.
Right now low level cards are going for more than they will in a month or so, so I'm finding that selling cards is probably the better long term play at the moment.Comment

Re: Advantages to created player for DD team
That's a great idea. I'm sold.
In keeping with the fact that a created player is a utility player, I'm going to make "Super Joe" McEwing.
He was a favorite of mine back in the day. Plus, I know his last name and actual batting stance are available.
On the subject of utility players, can you guys toss some other names out there of guys that were mainly utility players throughout their careers?
I'm drawing a blank.Comment

Early in his career, Albert Pujols was a utility player, playing 3B, LF, RF, and 1B. Mark DeRosa and Chone Figgins are two more. That's a great idea. I'm sold.
