Pacers small-ball lineup + Crazy scheme (Is this cheese??)

I play against the Warriors alot online, sometimes 10 times in a roll and I win most of my games but they are very close at the end, the dudes I played never use Bogut at the C, always Green or sometimes Iggy so I created a crazy scheme with the Pacers playing small ball.

    My lineup

    PG-Lawson
    Sg-Hill
    Sf-Ellis
    Pf-Miles
    C-George

This small ball team is the 2nd best in the game behind the Warriors, I kinda think its cheesy cause George is not a Pf or a C but Green is, so I feel kinda bad and yes I do get very ugly messages after the game lol

I will be going over 2 plays in the 01 76ers pb that makes this small-ball so unstoppable.

I do get alot of rebounds with Miles and PG13, also alot of steals when they try to pass it inside with my new defensive settings.

I'm sorry Sir... But the 2012 Heat with LeBron or Battier at PF are cheesy....

I don't think it's cheesy at all. You're adjusting your lineup to compete with your opponent's strengths/weaknesses.

He's perfectly able to adjust his lineup too.

I hereby pronounce this: NON-CHEESE BANG!!! (Gavel hits podium)

Well then I'm going with Harper, Jordan, Pippen, Toni and Rodman.... Good Luck... lol jk

Every time I play with the 01 Lakers and my opponent goes small. I laugh... I literally stay in my normal line up. No small line up will stop Shaq lol.

I will, I have a aggressive scheme, I use it with teams full of interceptor badges, Celtics, Jazz, Pacers

I play tight offball on everyone, force everything in the middle

              Defensive pressure - physical
              Protect the paint
I put on contest shot on manual

Basically you need excellent stick skills for this defensive scheme, probably 90% onball

How that lineup is not being destroyed on the boards is beyond me. There is no way you should be winning with that line up.

That too. The Pacers are already a poor defensive team, despite what the ranking says. It feels like my opponents are having layup drills on me no matter how disciplined I am on defense.

you have to play onball and cut him off of the baseline and force him to the middle that way you can manually help with the PF/C..

This scheme you have to force everything in the middle, its hard to use but once you get a hang of it you will be great!

Im holding my Warriors/Cavs opp to under 40% shooting, I dont know if thats bad or good but i think its ok, I can do better, I also force 8-15 turnovers and these are all in Greatest of all time ranking, I manual contest everything so my opp dont get any bail out fouls with my physical + Protect the paint P.O.E ... I will explain everything when i get back in town, cant wait!

Playing tight on everybody is pretty dumb IMO. You wanna play moderate/moderate on guys like Westbrook/Lebron not tight. If your AI is guarding them even on a quick pass to pumpfake, playing tight will allow them to blow by you easier. Playing moderate offball also allows your defenders to help slightly more on drives. The same reason you want to play gap offball on big men who can't shoot like Dwight/Bogut/Thompson. Playing gap off ball means your big men will camp in the paint more and help out on drives. The only time I play deny defense is on a shooter thats a poor athlete/poor finisher like Kyle Korver. If your opponent is smart he will manual cut you all day on deny defense

i play the superstars straight up, lol, I have a aggressive defensive scheme, You need good stick skills though, I played the best of the best of 2k and its usually a good game, trust me on this, there are a few of us that knows this scheme, then again, we're onball defenders.

This is just a example of how I play defense Vs elite teams, I use Half-court Pressure, I force everything in the middle just for the help with the C/PF, its high risk and high rewards, I also do the Double team and cancel method to get a bumping animation when guarding James oneball.. I will go over that soon.

Agree... Most people can't shoot. They only know how to drive. I don't even play tight on Curry. I usually Gap guys like LeBron and Russell. I literally dare them to shoot. And when they hit. It's only fools gold in my opinion. Agree with everything you said!!

Playing Gap on shooter is something I do too. It closes the paint down even more. It can be dangerous.

But I usually want my opponent to prove to me he can pass and shoot the ball. And then I'll play straight up.

Once he's made a jumper. I start to rotation.

This is where I respect some of my opponents. When you can get to the 3rd option of a broken down play. Most new guys can only drive and dunk. Take that away and it's a blowout. Some smarter players can find the open outlet. The really good user that I send messages to after the game with respect in it. Find that 3rd option of a play. For the WIDE OPEN shot I can't defend lol.
