Re: ESPN Presents: St. Louis Cardinals (MLB The Show 16)

Cards Pick Up 3rd Win of Spring Training
Wacha has great outing in first start

Jupiter, FL -- The Cardinals continued their winning ways this spring as they topped Miami 2-0 in a beautiful game in Florida. Michael Wacha took the hill for the Cardinals and had a great outing as the rest of the team were able to shut down Miami.

Michael Wacha would give up two hits in his brief outing but would strike out five batters in three innings.

"It's a great first start for him and we are looking forward to great things from him," Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said after the game.

Kolton Wong and Jed Gyroko, both battling for an infield starting spot, ripped doubles to help the Cardinals cause. Yadier Molina got another base hit, going 1-3 from the plate and raised his spring average to .333. Randal Grichuk seems to be struggling so far this spring. He did score a run after reaching on an error but was 0-3 otherwise with two strikeouts.

Other pitching notables were Jamie Garcia, who will start tomorrow, who went an inning and struck out two and Trevor Rosenthal who closed out the game with a strikeout.

The Cardinals will face off next against the Washington Nationals with Jaime Garcia taking the hill against Tanner Roark.
