    Fictional Roster?

    Update, since no one is doing a roster for fictional baseball, I am making my own. If you have 2k16 on the PS4, then you should know my fictional rosters are sim based and&nbsp; leaning toward realism. <br>
    <br>
    Personally,&nbsp; I grew up in the era of the long ball. So you will see power guys but they will not be overpowered. I have ways to balance players out and make certian players have value where others do not. I want a roster where you can both do a fantasy draft or take a team from the start with the players already in it. <br>
    <br>
    My goal is to finish this however,&nbsp; it takes a long time to make every single player on every team. So please be patient if you want to use this. Otherwise, it will still be for my personal use. <br>
    <br>
    So far teams complete are BALTIMORE, BOSTON, NEW YORK YANKEES,&nbsp; ATLANTA, CHICAGO CUBS. <br>
    <br>
    Full rotations, lineups, accessories,&nbsp; player faces and apperances, personality, contracts.

          I would love this also, I've seen a base roster in the vault that has no MLB players, but there aren't enough players to fill out all three levels and they're all 70's and lower.

          Fictional Rosters would be a lot of fun though, great for fantasy draft franchises.

            Lol I feel stupid now, but what's the motivation behind using a fictional roster instead of scea or real?

            Edit: well I guess the guy above me sort of explained it... I did create a team of South Park characters in a franchise one year. It was pretty entertaining. One thing that I liked about it was that I wasnt concerned about keeping their stats somewhat in sync w/their real life counterpart, b/c they don't have a real life counterpart. I just played and enjoyed the game.

            So I guess I get it now.

              Create your own universe. No bias as to who should be good and who shouldn't. In some ways it's more immersive because you are learning all the players from scratch.

                While I don't use fictional rosters, I find I ALWAYS have more fun once the leagues populate with fictional players.

                More surprises, more scouting (since you can't go by name), interesting skill sets/player types, etc.

                In some cases, I find sports games more "balanced" (or more easily adapted with sliders) than with real players. That's less so in The Show than with other games I've played, though and talking only about game-generated fictionals.

                  Lol This actually sounds really intriguing to me now. If I were to make a fictional roster, and possibly publish it (if I thought it were worthy)- what are some good guidelines to follow?

                  And the biggest thing- what do I do with all the real players? Just lower their attributes and put them in free agents?

                    Maybe do like old time sports games did - fake names.

                    Like "Joe Dakota" on one old football game I used to play. It's obviously "Joe Montana" but can't use the name.

                    Come up with some names that have audio and maybe tweak a rating or two to disguise it a bit?

                      one team could be the team from the sandlot.
                      the Indians from major league the movie.
                      tampa rays could be Kenny powers team.
                      twins could be from 'rookie of the year'

                      things like that. you wouldn't have enough names for the full squad, but if you get the important players and just make up all the rest. would be pretty fun but it would take a lot of time

                        So I've actually started doing it. Problem is, any player with a real portrait can't have their name edited. So I'm basically lower their potential to F. I'm also lowering their ratings to and dropping them to the FA pool- this way you're unlikely to see them in the majors (and hopefully unlikely to see them on a 40-man).

                        Obviously, other players are getting the fake name treatment (like Kim on the Orioles) and attribute boosts accordingly. I might throw in a couple of Easter-egg type names too, just for laughs

                            I don't want to push you into a roster-editing abyss, but it would be quite easy to remove the real players and go 100% fictional...

                            Have 2 roster files...one you keep, the other just a staging area. Edit a "fake" player as you want him in the staging roster, export him (save), them import him over a real player in your keeper set. You could do this in batches of 25 players, delete all exported/saved players, rinse and repeat with the next batch until your heart's content.

                            What sets a good fictional roster apart (and makes it so hard to do) is coming up with a balanced set of believable players (not all 5'5" gingers with dreadlocks and 99 OVR so to speak, lol).

                              I would love to do a draft with a completely fictional league, and rookie of the year was the Cubs, the Twins movie was Little Big League. Gotta start Wegman
