The Kawhi isn't mindblowing, which a part of me is glad for since I not only have all three other Kawhis, but badged all of them.

Don't see picking it over Diamond Dr. J (though may be good deal cheaper), but it is a pretty nice card. The upgrades are substantial: +15 on Post Control and +9 Post Fade to 95 Post Fade, so it's an elite-level offensive option without a shoe. +5 to Strength, +3 Accel, more solid midrange, and defense all gets up as high as they could go in a SF.

If he were around the price of, say, Diamond Jamal or Diamond J.R., I'd think long and hard about getting yet another Kawhi and badging him up.

And this new Diamond has 5 more Badges added to him, which is kind of big deal because the others only have 12, which is really light compared to elite cards.

Yea still a nice card but I just wouldn't use it over what I currently have which is diamond PG13/Melo.

That 87 overall JV looks dope, would love to use him. Unfortunately, he has no place in my rotation at this stage of the year.

Edit: It's nice that these cards come with badges upgraded already.

agree man. it's a shame we don't have alternatives to RTTP...like restricted silver/gold leagues or tournaments where we could really max out the best possible teams in each tier. there are so many fun cards out there, but they have absolutely no use at this point of the game playwise (only purpose for collector rewards)

That's why i have more fun playing restricted seeds.
Since you enter the restricted ones, it's all about Amethyst/Diamonds and how you get the best team.

I don't subscribe to the theory that you need all diamond/amethyst lineups to compete in the unrestricted seeds. I still use gold and silver cards in the unrestricted seeds and rarely lose. Imo its more enjoyable mix up your lineup with role players instead of going with the best cards possible. I get not everyone can pull this off but if you're good at the game you should try mixing up your lineup. It'll keep the game fresh and winning is more rewarding. I appreciate cards like this and find use for them.

Did they just make a 90 overall Deng because of one 31 point game? lol this mode keeps getting dumber and dumber. His TBT one is great tho, beast 6'9 3 and D guy and cheap af.

I imposed restrictions on myself, use only 1 or 2 amethysts at most, the rest are specialist golds and silvers, way more fun and more satisfying to win.

Like at the moment I run with Glove/Jrue, Mitch/some random shooter, TBT Deng/TBT Ariza, Gold Draymond/TBT David Lee, Sabonis/DPOY Tyson Chandler (who's an absolute beast) and random bench. Heaps of fun.

I use the DPOY Kawhi, and I think that card is a massive upgrade. The gold has pretty poor finishing with a 74 layup while the diamond has a 95. His three ball looks much better as well. There are definitely far better diamond options out there at SF (probably all of them minus Rick Barry), but I still think the card is dope.

mixed feelings. new content is always good and will lower market prices this week. (if they follow up with nice Diamond on TBT/FBF then we may be looking at crash)

on the other hand, they have totally abandoned DR cards.

I'd love to have that Deng if the price was right...tell ya why...
his release animations is one of the best in the game. with his ratings he would be absolutely lethal from deep. just like sapphire Deng last year. I will have my eye on him. likely a card that will get slept on, but this may be the most affordable 3-D guy on the game.
