Just scored my first online submission victory via an armbar with my lightweight fighter in UT. Felt good. My opponent only wanted to tangle on the ground. I'm still not great with the ground transition system, but I'm getting better. Still a complete newbie to the clinch game (but I've gotten better in that area too), also.

I'm loving this game in every aspect. There are the tae kwon doe spin to death dudes, ya but if say half the time I'm fighting somebody with a knowledge of mma.. Ground game is just practice, jits in actuality is just reaction to your opponent and setting up transitions with feint transitions was genius to put in.. The annoying dudes will fall off once they get patched or people start getting really good ground games.. and things will be perfect.. Psn doesHelikeit56 to play someone who promises they won't be Jon Jones of you won't lol

Something's that's been bothering me for a while now...since release in fact; is it just me, or does the game feel completely different from the beta?

Now I'm not here to complain, or to pretend like I'm some professional UFC player. I'm not. Although, it's just not the same to me. For example, in the beta I felt a constant sense of danger when I fought someone. Fighting Lawler was FRIGHTENING and it felt like with a few key blows I could easily drop. I never felt "safe" in the beta. To go with that, just to give a little background to my fighting style...I like to sit back, counter and pick people apart. In the beta when I chose Condit, I was able to stick and move...slowly wear down my opponent, and once they opened enough I was able to explode and take advantage for the finish. It felt like my constant counter blows were damaging, and generally I felt my opponent was forced to ADJUST because he couldn't run directly into my fists with no repercussions to pay for it.

Now in contrast to the retail edition? Wow...talk about pillow fists. I could counter with heavy strike after heavy strike after heavy strike which would all land flush...PERFECT counters, and it's like nothing is even happening?

"Oh you wanna punish my spin kick when it whiffs? lol spin kick to the face sucka!"

It's getting pretty ridiculous. Why is it that I can use Condit, known for his finishing ability and completely outstrike Erick Silva...yet still get KO'd because of a million quadruple spinning cartwheel kicks? Why is it when I pick Machida, I am FORCED to play aggressively because counter striking seems to do next to nothing compared to Liu Kang flying dragon kicks? Just makes no sense to me...extremely frustrating.

Sorry if this feels like a bunch of random thoughts, but this crap is just getting annoying with every fight I can continue to take. I just have to know if I'm just imagining all this or not.

I still don't feel there is enough separation in ratings. I recently had a fight where McGregor was able to get up far to easy with Nick Diaz on top of him.

I'm enjoying the change to stamina when jumping and spinning strikes are thrown, but they have to get the strike damage straight. It's ridiculous how much a fighter can absorb before going into a stun state. This guy gave up and just stood there. Now, I know it's hard to balance things, but this is a bit much.

Another one down. I've beaten a good amount of dudes with these types of records now and I've learned that they're all pretty much the same. When they see that fighting you straight up isn't going to work, it becomes a constant attack of clinches or they put you in side control and try to tie your arms up over and over again. Still haven't really seen much spinning since the patch. Those days seem to be behind us thankfully.

Another nice thing since the patch is that there's a lot more risk to parrying since you don't automatically block when you mistime it. There a lot more straight up blocking in fights now. And I'm also KOing a lot more of these dudes now because of it.

One more thing, don't bother with slow dudes in middleweight. You're always going to see Rockhold. I love my boy Yoel, but he's not cutting against these guys most of the time. I feel he should be faster than he is in the game, but it's whatever.

I've been enjoying it so far. Still figuring out some of the strategies but my game is tightening up quickly. Seems well balanced, everything has a counter outside a few small exceptions. I think with a bit of fine tuning over the next few patches we will have a great game.

Does anyone think the jab is OP now? Thats all I'm seeing online is repeated jab combos with an occasional straight mixed in. Hard to close the distance on that technique.

Maia can kick rocks. Was destroying this guy and this he got a td when I had most of my health and tapped me. Hate sub guys.

Then I faced a Holm who did nothing but keep away kicks after I lit him up in the first. He got the decision, I needed more time. Argh, just needed to vent.

Use hooks on the same side as their jab to close distance on a fighter who is over utilizing jabs. They will not be intercepted.

how is that possible? by definition a hook is shorter range than a jab

Hooks and overhands are often used as a method to close distance on a fighter who is attempting to keep distance or utilizing jab/straight.

Hook or Overhand will not be intercepted if it is thrown on the same side as the jab. This is a counter to jabs in our current interruption system.

                                Example:
