We all know the gameplay isn't going to be any better. I doubt there's much change to the game. I've had my hopes up every year and this year I don't expect much. The last three years I've been nothing but disappointed and let down.

Classic teams, it would be fun to replay a season with the original 6 or even the WHA, The kind of thing the NHL 2004-rebuilt guys do. Might as well throw in the ECHL. Yeah EA never does this kind of stuff and since they don't support PC any longer (except for FIFA) it won't happen.Comment

It will be the first bit of news about it, and it looks like fans will get to choose who should be on the cover again. The GIF files shows that you could choose between 8 different players to grace this year’s cover. (N4g.com)Comment

Judging from the .gif I'd say the choices will be Giroux (again) or possibly Gostisbehre, Jagr or possibly Ekblad/Barkov, McDavid, Benn, Tarasenko, Pavelski, Hedman, and Kopitar or Doughty.
Why this business with the cover athlete all the time? What is it? 2003? Nobody cares. Everyone wants either screens teasing new content/features/details, fact sheets, or non-"sizzle" videos showing feature and gameplay improvements.Comment

I can't wait for EA Sports to make a big deal about the cover vote tomorrow. I'm very excited for this feature to be revealed and for the twitter hashtags to be announced to make it official. These are the little details that I think of when I get frustrated playing BeAGM. Well it's the same atmosphere again and Doc just said the same general comment for the 7th time this season but hey..... #NHL17McDavidComment

Tweaks and adjustments won't do it this year; the entire system needs to be rebuilt. These past few years have been nothing but frustrating as not a SINGLE aspect of the NHL series reflects the real game; zero creativity in playmaking, unrealistic physics, terrible player movement and speed, etc etc.
I moved to FIFA and have not looked back. The game gives you the tools and it's up to you to take advantage of the mechanics that are in place, offering an experience that has delivered 1,000 times over NHL.
More user celebrations? Realistic coaches? No. Fix the gameplay. I'm tired of players trudging through concrete and then getting flattened by every nudge and shoulder. I'm done ranting and will stick with FIFA until they watch a real hockey game and realize they've been doing it wrong.Comment
