Should speed be removed from move levels?

Was a placebo effect. Was wrong about this.

Man you want a lot of things changed. Never ending it seems. UT is broken. It can't be fixed now

I'm not sure if the speed should be removed .... I'd like a third option to display the speed difference. That way i can make a conscious decision to either stick with a the default trip or use the improved one

A trip isn't what I am talking about. That would be considered a transition since it is a takedown. Look at people who complain about jab/straight spam to the body. One of the reasons this is even possible is because certain fighters have higher level jabs/straights. Which in turn makes them faster. Faster than their default punch speed. Each level speeds it up. So if you had a guy with level 5 jab/straights, they are very hard to stop because of how fast those strikes become.

When you play Ultimate Team, this is very exaggerated. You could have one move that is super lightning fast, but the rest of your strikes are slow because your punch and kick speeds are low.

Actually I'm happy that speed is part of the move level...speed, power, and stamina, all 3 are affected by move level, and i think they should be, really helps with variety

Nah I think it should stay

They should've made level 4-5 moves way more rare in UT team though

The guys in ranked almost never have them and it should be that way in UT to make things more balanced.

Kind of my whole point of the thread. This is drastically different in Ultimate Team. It just looks weird too. Say you have one level 5 move, and the rest are default. Your speed is determined by your stats. The speed of the strike is determined by the move, and probably the stats as well. However, this one move is going to be blazing fast, while the rest of your moves are much, much slower.

It just doesn't look or feel right to me because of this. Like I said, you don't notice this as much using roster fighters. It is still there though.

Thats the whole point of getting a 4 or 5 star move. If it looks and feels exactly like a lvl 0 what would be the point of collecting cards?

Are you sure they influence speed? It's not stated in the game.

                      I'mma ask the devs.

Just did. They don't impact speed. Beware of the placebo!

                          Because you expect them to.

Yep. It was a placebo effect. Just went and made a CAF and tested this out. Just changed the jab and straight to level 5. Also had an identical one at level 1. The speed was the same. Surprised no one else mentioned this. Maybe they thought I was talking about the bonuses given with the moves. I know you get bonuses with the moves stat wise. For some reason, some moves just feel quicker. Need to test this out more, but I am certain that the jab and straight are the same speed.

                            My bad.

LOL I got placebo'd by the placebo!

I really thought there was no speed difference....but assumed there was based on this thread...
