The Request a Review of a Player Thread

I thought it would be cool if we had a single spot where people could ask/give reviews of certain player cards that people have used or are planning to buy.

I know there have been posts here and there but be easier to have them all combined into one thread.

As a starter, could anyone please give me a review of:

Amethyst Oscar Robertson (93 ovr version)?

I'd like the diamond but can't afford him, and am looking for a bigger PG who won't get bullied against cheesy people running Kobe etc. at point guard.

Feel free to post up your own requests

I'd question the overall intelligence level of a reviews site with titles such as "MY N#GGA"...

Operation Sports members are generally much more useful than that.

Seems no1 uses the amythest Oscar.
I'm curious about the diamond Deron Williams. Looks pretty cheap and his silver card animations are pretty good already.

Re: The "Request a Review of a Player" thread

I have Diamond Oscar, and had amethyst Oscar for a little while before I sold him. Let me know if you have any detailed questions.

First thing is Big O doesn't do anything GREAT offensively other than pass. He's good at everything. Good shooter, good in the post, good rebounder(purple is no where near as good, but can hold his on). The one thing he lacks is he doesn't dunk in traffic and can get blocked. Relentless finisher is a must on him to finish at the rim. But you can bully people in the post. He has a good post fade. Depending on your style, he isn't very fast. So he is no Westbrook/Rose. The best part about him is his ball handling and passing. It's very comfortable with him having the ball. He runs the offense great.

Now on defense he is a juggernaut. Probably one of the top 2 PG's defensively in the game, and the purple has better stats than the diamond on that end just by a little bit. Great feet work, great anticipation. Overall amazing. He can play 1-3 easily. Only thing that hurts the purple is his speed.

One thing with Big O is his shot is on the slow side. Release is easy, but just a little slow. But overall probably the best overall PG not named Magic. If you need a play maker and someone to run your offense, and a overall player good at everything, it's Big O. If you need someone to make shots, and make 3's, he isn't the guy.

                Diamond T-Mac review

I used him in this line-up as a SG

                Positives:

                - Great ball hander, can initiate pick n rolls.
                - Better defender than stats suggest due to speed, height and shot contest. Can guard any player from PG to SF
                - Fast player, can get easy buckets in tranisition
                - Great dunker

                Negatives:
                - Passing ability is average, PG's and LBJ are better play iniators.
                - Finishing at the rim is on par with TBT LBJ and KD
                - Cuts to the basket when wide open for a 3 even in space the floor
                - 3 pt is good but not excellent. His release is not very quick and cannot be used as a spot shooter.
                - Price 350-400 K fully badged. Let's face it you can buy a full team with this amount.

Overall a great player that in my oppinion can not be used in same line-up with TBT LBJ . They are similar players in the way the need the ball a lot in their hands.

However his price is for people that have unlimited MT. If you are full of diamonds e.g T-Mac is a great player.
If you have no diamonds splashing 350-400k in him is not a wise option.

To be honest with you, it is if you can afford the MT. You can find MVP Kobe's for around 250k depending on the day but they usually linger to around 300-350k fully badged out. I would suggest getting one closer to the 250k side, they are out there. It's double the amount of purple Kobe. I see them quite a bit. Don't jump at one that's 320k. You can save yourself some MT. I have had every Kobe in the game, and recently got rid of MVP Kobe to help pay for a TBT Diamond Kobe last week.

I had TBT amethyst Kobe before upgrading to the MVP thinking he would be on par. Plus he's less MT. I played a few games with him, and it's clear that he isn't really a shooter. Now he can knock the mid range jumpers down all day. But his 3 ball is very inconsistent. His post fade is mediocre and inconsistent like his 3 ball. Driving is there, and dunking ability is def. there. But this isn't 2k13, they toned down the posterizer dunks. So to me it's not a huge difference between a 99 dunker and a 84 dunker, mainly depends on the tendencies.

Speed is there, but defensively he isn't as good as MVP Kobe. A lot easier to control MVP Kobe playing on ball defense.

Overall amethyst Kobe is good, but honestly even though I'm a huge Kobe fan, I didn't have much fun playing with him. Not even in Gauntlet. He just missed too many open jumpers for me. It might be me, but I felt like his shot was a little different too. That's probably mind tricks.

MVP Kobe makes a lot more open shots, and is more fun to play with IMO, but it was fun playing with Frobe.....for like 24hrs. lol. Had to sell him and get my MT back.

I would be very interested if someone could Review Diamond Dwight Howard or Playoffs Draymond (him especially in comparison to Playoffs Millsap). I'm thinking of letting MJ go and spread the MT on low-priced but high value cards. Something like 3 for 1 - Howard, Draymond, Kawhi for Jordan.

I bought Draymond a couple days back when I saw him for 228k. I have played only a few games with him (Uncharted 4...), and my PF isn't a top priority in my offense

                      Pros:

                      - Defense: can shut down almost anyone, forms a nice pair with KAJ for me.
                      - Passing: will help to run your offense smoothly.
                      - Speed: funny to see a PF sometimes outrun your wings in transition.
                      - Shooting: almost automatic inside the arc, can make 3's quite consistently if...

                      Cons:

                      - ... wide open and you nail his form down, not the best animation. Still trying to figure the sweet spot out. Can't shoot over people like Dirk.
                      - Size: great rebounding stats, but doesn't always show up on the boxscore. Might struggle against taller players.
                      - Post game: he's not the best post player.
                      - Doesn't come with any shooting badges.

This has been my limited experience with him, overall I think he is a good fit for my system as I don't expect much scoring from my PF usually.

Thx for replying. I just got one for 180k with 26 gold badges. Pulled the trigger. Now I can test him and compare him to Millsap. Maybe I keep both along with Dirk - it's not bad to have variety and more options depending on the opponent. I can imagine playing Millsap PF and Draymond C if facing a Small Ball Lineup and punish them with 90 Strength......

Anyway is Kawhi worth getting? He is around 110-120k on the refresh.

I would get that kawhi, amazing defense and a pretty good finisher with 3pt shot. worth the mt if you need a lock down defensive beast for end of games.

Millsap is a beast for sure against smaller guys. Struggles in the post against guys like AD. But his spot up shooting is so smooth that you don't need him in the post if they play big.

This is something I'd like to try out. Imagine this lineup of these players' Diamond versions:

                            PG: LeBron
                            SG: Paul George
                            SF: Kawhi Leonard
                            PF: Paul Millsap
                            C: Draymond Green

The "positionless basketball" "switch everyone" wet dream.

Anyway Green seems to be superb so far. I would't match him up with tall C but basically he can rotate between SF/PF/C if needed. To secure the last win I even put him at SF to lock down KD for the final minutes along with Millsap and Russel. I adore his flexibilty. Such a great-allrounder. Yet needs more testing.

Considering the Millsap vs AD match up I never felt any disadvantage. AD can't push you away in the post with 74 Str.
