That counts for something so I'm gonna support Rex and crew full bore (not be a cheerleader) now that we have a dev team that seems to get it and has backed up their words so far. I'm in. I'd rather support these guys now and have them continue down this path than to give off the vibe that they aren't good enough (not saying that you or anyone is or anything) only to have another team in there a year or so from now focusing on God knows what. I can't front, Rex has been strait up and delivered and it has shown in the end product. Which is the only thing that matters. M16 is a good game. M17 is looking to be even better just by these few tidbits. Madden looks to finally have stability now and a more sim oriented crew. I remember the others and the product they put out. In Rex I trust!

Totally agree. There will be issues with the implementation of the new gameplay mechanics but I have total confidence that they will bust their *** to make improvements to the game all year.

I guess if one wants to break out the history tome and use the entirety of Tiburon's years developing Madden as a reason to be pessimistic, then okay, but I'd rather just look at the last couple of years and see them as a reason to be excited.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Honestly, we are already there in Madden 16. The problem is, most gamers don't understand it, and instead of adjusting their strategy they adjust sliders to get the results they want.

I'm excited to try out the new features, as last year's game implemented some to great effect.

So Im wondering if this renewed focus on Franchise mode will include the ability to edit draft prospects. Or if custom draft classes will be left out again and I wont play Madden for the 3rd straight year.

At the very minimum, Im hoping we can edit anything about players at any time during franchise mode like you can do in both 2k and The Show. At least in those games you can edit draft picks once they are drafted and turn them into real guys by editing name, ht, wt, skills, personal info, equipment.

Really hope EA is bring the complete user customization control to Madden like the NCAA series had.

This dev crew has my respect since Madden 15. Football gaming is nowhere near where I want it to be in this era of software. A lot of the legacy architecture of the game has a very underwhelming and samey feeling going on fifteen years now, and, a lot of its mechanics feel underwhelming compared to say, the first touch mechanic in FIFA, or Rocket League in general (awkward comparison, I know).

With all that said though, what Rex and co. have done with what they have to work with is fantastic, and I've enjoyed the hell out of it. Not only that, they've made a real effort to try and find ways to implement community/customer wishes into the game.

I love the fact that the first info coming out is all core football gameplay related. No Ultimate Team, or Draft Champions II, or anything like that. Just football and franchise mode.

These are not just general improvements. Let's take zones, for example.

Rex, can you comment even generally about some of the small but important legacy features that we would like to see return? Specifically,

              -Formation substitutions
              -Matchup coverage assignments
              -32-team control
-Ability to play all-offense in franchise mode

I see these 4 touted by so many of the hardcore guys. I'd appreciate any input you can offer! You're the man, Rex.

As we get closer and more in depth info is released, I hope there is info that will show not every player will play/cover these zones the same across the board.

The other thing dealing with defensive coverage is how everything seems to have to play out within a small box due to player/field ratio within the current camera views.

This causes the play from beginning to end to occur so fast, that a lot of your hard work is sometimes minimized in some ways because there's little time for a play to build up to the conclusion.

It's just hike the ball, quick offensive/defensive interaction on a run or pass, then end of play.
                    - very little space/time for other animations/interactions to play out.
                    - it's not a game speed thing.

I don't know if it's due to the current camera perspectives or what.
Just would like for there to be a build up to the conclusion of a play rather than the quick nature each play currently ends.

Probably not making any sense, but thanks for your efforts to interact with the community.

I think it's a bit early still. I'm cautiously optimistic but am refraining from getting too exited until it's confirmed there's 100% customization/editing in franchise mode like in 2K.

On kick off returns I really hope they got rid of all the cpu kick returners downing the ball when it goes so far in the end zone. Seems like if the ball is kicked 3 yards or more in the end zone they down it, every time no matter who the returner is!! So annoying.

please please please fix the o-line blocking and the fundamentals of 3-4 and 4-3 dline.

the game starts in the trenches thus its where the first improvements should be made.

gap control and force backers are useless when what is going on in the trenches is not fixed.
