Catchers
I've noticed a lot of people tend to use their created player as a catcher, and ive had my fair share of struggles at the position so i understand it. I recently switched to the FB McCann and have had a lot of success (in limited games ill admit, but hitting over .400 in 10 games). loving him on both sides of the ball.

Re: Catchers
Flashback Jarrod Saltalamacchia is amazing in this game because most people only throw high fastballs to his cold zones where you can just sit your cursor and crush them.
I'm actually hitting pretty well with Salt against lefties despite his terrible attribute ratings because again people will just throw fastballs to those high cold zones, and even with a much smaller cursor, they are still fairly easy to hit.
The extreme pull shift is the only thing that gives me trouble with Salt. It's always on by default against him unless runners are on base. So try to put him in a spot in your lineup that's right behind a few high OBP guys.
188 at-bats vs. RHP
62 hits vs. RHP
24 at-bats vs. LHP
8 hits vs. LHP
11 doubles
29 home runs
51 RBI
32 strikeouts
His arm and blocking aren't the greatest but they're serviceable for sure. You'll let some balls hit the backstop every so often. And don't expect to throw out Dee Gordon or Ichiro unless you pitch out. Slide step fastballs aren't good enough for him to gun down 95+ speed runners. Anyone with less than 90 speed is usually a sure out through.Last edited by jyoung; 05-15-2016, 02:35 AM.Comment

Re: Catchers
I always raked with Flashback Jason Castro and flashback A.J. Still, not nearly as well as my created player. Created player at catcher is pretty much the way to go it seems.

Re: Catchers
I use my created player. He is a 99 catcher and better all around than any other catcher

Re: Catchers
I like to have my created player at catcher because nobody else in the game is as well rounded, but I've lately found that I really like Yogi Berra against both righties and lefties. Robinson Cano has gotten a really nice boost so I now use my guy at shortstop, but against lefties I'll bring out Hanley and put my guy at 2B.Comment

Re: Catchers
To play competitively against higher rated teams I absolutely must use my CAP at catcher. He's a 99 in all fielding stats and has 96 contact and 92 power versus both sides. A great hitter that also shuts down the opposing running game with his defense.Comment

Re: Catchers
whats the rest of your lineup look like? my CAP isn't quite that good yet. he's a 93 as a catcher but his hitting stats are only in the high 70's. McCann has hit great for me though so far. i do use my CAP as a bullpen player though since he has great pitching statsIGN: xDrunkenAimxComment

Re: Catchers
I use Kyle Schwarber (partly because I am doing the Rizzo NL central captain ticket grind) and he rakes!!! He murders righties, and is decent against lefties. Can drive the ball to the opposite gap consistently. He is slow as molasses though.Comment

Re: Catchers
I've been using Berra as my catcher and he's done fine. Before that I liked Lucroy.2k15 MyTeam PS4

Re: Catchers
I'm using a platoon of Yogi Berra vs RHP and Buster Posey vs LHP. I just don't like Posey's H/C zone vs RHP. Berra's stats are deceiving, his high plate vision makes him a really tough out and he has a lot of long at bats which can wear down opposing pitchers.Comment
