Region locked matchmaking for ranked games.

This issue needs seriously addressed and not swept under the rug.

What are your opinions on this? I get matched up with Asians and Brazilians way too often and I'm getting sick of it. The delay is horrendous and the stuttering caused by the lag just infuriates me. (I'm British)

Would anyone else prefer to play against people from their own continent? It won't eliminate lag completely because some people don't understand how much bandwidth they're consuming or people just basically have dog **** Internet connections.

We need search filter by region settings, those who want to make it regionally locked could do it.

I'm in the US and honestly my connections have been fine recently. I'd assume matchmaking doesn't throw connection quality and region out of the equation but it definitely tries to find you a match in a reasonable time frame as they figure a laggy match is better than not finding one for hours. On Xbox in Ranked, there might be 7,000 players at best during peak times in North America... during UK's peak time, you might get 2,500? And how many of those are actually UK players? Great majority of those will still be NA.

Lag is certainly a problem, and region-lock seems like a fine idea. But what good is it when your player pool is so small that you'd be searching for a fight for an excuriating amount of time? Seems like it wouldn't benefit the minority, only the majority.

I really hate to vote yes. Really, I do! Part of the fun of online gaming is playing w/ people all around the world and everyone having a shot to fight / be the best

We could still play with people from around the world in rivalries or quick match. Just not ranked.

If they expect anyone to take the ranked leaderboards or prize tournaments serious they will have to region lock.
