Story time! Your most frustrating losses

Just a bit of fun, let's list some of our very worst losses.

I'm absolutely certain that some of these will have happened to the rest of you, too. About 3 of them happened to me last night, alone, which inspired me to make the thread. lel.

I only have standup fighters, so these are all from the perspective of someone who wants to stand. Stats are like 80 STU, 70 CLN, 64 GRN.

    - 3 round fight. I'm dominating it, have more stamina left, clean, undamaged body parts, while my opponent's head and body are almost totally done. halfway through round 3, he parries my straight, hits me with ONE overhand, gets the knockdown, and finishes me on the ground. Couldn't even recover.

    - Similar situation to the above, except this time, in round 3, I rocked the guy and I throw a takedown. As we hit the ground, he IMMEDIATELY transitions to back side. Like he had grapple assist or something. I block his first punch from here to gain GA and transition out, but he punches through my transitions. Can't go anywhere, not to back clinch, not fullguard, or side, he just lands punches and resets me, regardless of whether or not I block first to get GA. I end up TKO'd in this position, impossible to move.

    - Had a fight with a guy who JUST WOULD NOT STOP CLINCHING. I probably landed 100 more sig strikes than he did, but he just kept spamming that clinch ALL THE TIME. I'd deny 5 of them and then get caught in the 6th. This fight was lame as hell but I was sure I'd won due to his body dmg and lack of strikes. Went to dec, and I lost. Must be because all that clinch spam gave him "control time" or something? F*** knows.

    - Fought a lagger on his host. Whole fight is just insanely laggy but I'm managing to stay in control of it and dominate. Gets to the second round, there are a few BIG lag spikes now, the fight even resets a couple of times. About half way in, it lags hard again, and now my game crashes with an error code. I restart it, log back in and oh look, I 'lost' and I've lost div points and I'm back down to prospect.

    - This one's a classic: Winning fight clearly, they catch you in a clinch and one shot you. lmaolmao.

    - And of course, all those people with 15 more OVR points than me and 98-100 STU, that I fight in divisions 2 and 3. gg m8s.

Got loads more but I'll be here all day. Share some of yours!

    >> This is not a whine thread, and it's not to whine and bitch about losing. It's just a bit of fun, to talk about some of our most annoying losses.

Has to be to the flying sub guys that don't throw a single strike and spend the entire match backing up desperately attempting clinches and takedowns. those guys suck.

The most frustrating is losses from EA sever disconnects. Worse than losing to cheese.

One of my latest fights with my middleweight. 3 round fight, clearly dominating him. had to counter his spam tactics (1-2, rear roundhouse to the head, always blocking his head). about 15 seconds before the clock runs out (and I definetly had won this fight), his kick knocks me out immediately...

I knock a guy down and I'm running to finish him then I get a message saying you have been disconnected from the ea servers.

Off topic a tad but just had a satisfying win. Guy throws out his glove then kicks me in the face before we tap. Whooped him in less than 30 seconds... I fight him alot and he always does it, just never remember him til after it happens.

On topic, losing to a flying armbar really frustrates me since it's only 2 gates and the knees can kill me quicker so I usually defend that...

Rock a guy in the third round with a knee from MTC drop hi m, go for finish, he recovers instantly and get backs all his stamina, goes into back side, denial doesn't work he goes into full guard , denies my transition and instant arm bar. Mind you he has no ground stats or sub stats! What the ****?

Anyone who spams the RG are becoming as frustrating as MT spammers prepatch. That's where my most frustrating losses have come from.

This happens ALL THE TIME lol. I always go to touch, and the amount of times someone has done this is crazy. I swear people go for cheapshots now more often than they actually touch. Never really bothered me though, as I don't think I've actually lost to anyone who has done this.

UT championship fight, I'm coasting through the fights getting 1/2 knockdowns a round and dominating the ground exchanges. Opponent is attempting the MT clinch the whole fight and is getting countered and lit up. I'm dropping my opponent at ease and plan to keep it up until the 5th for the extra coins and fun of dropping then taunting my opponent. 5th round comes and as a step in with a lead body straight to uppercut he gets the MT clinch he's been looking for the whole fight. I counter his knee with a knee to the body, he now has 0 stamina. I go for the break and he somehow starts a flying armbar. I cancel the break and attempt to deny the submission but the mini game is already loaded. With 0 stamina he proceeds to deny my gates and wins via a flying armbar started and finished with totally empty stamina.
Moral of the story: if you can finish you opponent don't taunt and drag the fight out. And flying submissions don't require stamina to setup or finish.

Learned this the hard way a few times myself. I quite often have fights like that where I feel I'm winning easily, so I will let them get up after knockdowns. I prefer clean KOs or even a decision win over the crappy lame "finish the fight".

There have been fights where I have had like 9-10 knockdowns and then ended up losing because of a flash KO or some cheese. Can' be mad about it though, I chose to give them 9 or 10 "second chances" :>
