The academy isn't great due to only having 1* scouts but the couple players that are in there at the minute could be capable depth players.

Haha it was an unintentional quote but now that I think about it, it is an appropriate one! It was probably subconscious.
Are you still continuing your Cardiff career mate???

It's still there in my save files and I may play it occasionally but Accrington is my main one for now.

I agree with your gameplan on Ceballos I think his sale could fatten up your budget for those world class players you want to get. I give Noble player of the season just for how he performed but also what he meant to you and the club all season, and goal of the season to Lacazette. Would it be crazy to suggest Rondon as a backup striker for you next season?
We have a Payet truther! Haha, very fair from you regarding that on my criticism of Payet, however, he has the technical ability and the fact that the majority of his career he started on the wing until the past few seasons, that he should still have been able to make an impact from out wide. In spite of that, when I played him on the wing he disappeared (when I was trying to get my best XI players on the pitch in spite of their preferred positions) so I did expect more of him but there is a grain of salt to go along with that as you have clearly pointed out!

Rondon would not be a bad idea, I'll have to give him a look scouting wise because surely he will be cheaper than some of the younger options that I have been scouting and inquiring about, so I will give him a look!

Simp - Thank you also for voting for goal of the season, etc! Much love for you following along and for the congratulations. I agree with your assessment and that with maybe a couple shrewd sales and shrewd buys we could be big challengers next season!

Shame about getting eliminated from the Europa League early on but that will make you more motivated for the big competition next season. Also, your squad is looking very good, especially the defence with my boy Brooks in there and with recent signing Eriksen making a huge impact! Do you have any plans for the summer transfer window?
Thanks! I was very excited to win the league after we disappointed in every other competition. The defense was great all year and Eriksen was great and I was really worried his late injury would cost us the title. Before the transfer window I would have saidy that I really don't have an plans, but having actually played through a portion of it there have been some unexpected problems that led to changes in the squad that I think will surprise everyone!

                  Basque Pride

                  Transfers Out

Mikel Balenziaga, 81 Ovr, Left Back,
                  €22,000,000 to VfL Wolfsburg

Wolfsburg made a very big offer for our starting left back and we simply couldn't say no to it. Balenziaga was a consistent performer for the team but ne never really shone.

Ander Iturraspe, 82 Ovr, Defensive Midfielder, €30,000,000 to West Bromwich

Thirty million for a benchwarmer? How could have I said no? Iturraspe was never anything more than a depth player and our second-choice defensive midfielder so receiving thirty million for him was a dream come true. Another factor that affected the high price is that this deal was finalised on deadline day.

                  Transfers In

                  Mikel Merino

72 Ovr, Defensive Midfielder, 20 Years Old, Spain

                  €3,300,000

Athletic Club were fast to find a replacement for their departed defensive midfielder Ander Iturraspe and this replacement came in the form of the young Basque talent Mikel Merino. The 20-year-old midfielder made his senior debut for Osasuna in 2014 and became a starter immediately. Merino then joined Manchester United for six months in the summer of 2016 before returning to Spain and Basque Country, this time in an Athletic Club kit. The young man has made a dozen appearances for the Spanish U19 side and he is one of the top Basque talents. Furthermore, Athletic are known for their quality youth players and they can certainly turn Merino into a world class player.

                  Cesar Azpilicueta

82 Ovr, Left Back, 27 Years Old, Spain

                  €27,000,000

Another replacement, who Athletic Club were fast to sign, is the Spanish left back Cesar Azpilicueta, or Dave, as he is known between the supporters of his old club Chelsea. Bilbao had to pay a hefty fee of €27M for one of the better fullbacks of the Premier League but the Osasuna youth product should be worth every penny. Azpilicueta played an important role in the defence of the title-winning Chelsea side in 2015 and he offers a lot quality going both forwards and backwards. Additionally, Azpilicueta can play perfectly fine on both sides of the defence.

                  2. Real Madrid, 42 pts
                  3. FC Barcelona, 42 pts

                  My Thoughts

Form - We had a tough time in January against bottom teams but fortunately we managed to come out on top in all of those games apart from the Granada draw. Villarreal on the other hand is always a tough opponent and a draw against them is a solid results. Furthermore, we have a ten-point lead over Real Madrid second so there is no need to worry about anything.

Transfers - I think that the sells of Iturraspe and Balenziaga are quite self-explanatory. We simply received very big offers for the two and had to take them.

As far as signings go, buying Merino was an interesting choice as his overall is pretty low at the moment. Two other options we could've gone for were Xabi Alonso and Asier Illarramendi, both of whom are older and better than Merino, but after some thinking I ended up choosing Merino because he is younger, has a good potential and isn't a widely known players at all. Also, it's always fun to see young talents turn into stars in your team.

Azpilicueta was signed only to replace Balenziaga and he should be a quality replacement. Nothing much to add about his signing or this month as that's everything that happened. Also, nothing has changed in the youth academy since the last update.

Thank you for reading this post! I hope you have enjoyed it! Any feedback or suggestions will be appreciated!

Also, it's interesting that you're bringing quite a few Serbians, Greeks and Croatians into the team through transfers and academy considering those countries' history with Turkey but hey, I'm happy to see a bit of Balkan blood in there. Gianakos is looking amazing in the academy and I'm excited to see how he does for you in the future.

Solid results with a draw against Fenerbahce and a win against Besiktas although you did drop quite a few points. Fourth is still a very good position but that three-point gap over seventh is a bit concerning.
Especially early on at a club I'm pretty open to selling anyone for the right price. I'm unaware of the history between Turkey and its surrounding nations so I've just been trying to look for players that aren't too far out. I'm excited about Gianakos too, the final report on his potential has it at 92-94

                      Summary

The Reds FINALLY get their first win of the season, fittingly for Klopp in the Europa League vs Russian side Rubin Kazan, as the offense finds itself and delights the Anfield crowd to the tune of 4 goals, including a brace from Daniel Sturridge. They would carry the momentum into a sloppy Vitality Stadium, and use extra time to defeat Bournemouth (who previously defeated them in a BPL fixture), 2 goals to 1.

4 days later they would secure their fist League win of the season, after starting out with 2 draws, and 3 losses, defeating Aston Villa at Anfiled, 1-0. They closed out the month Hosting Norwich on a foggy night, and smashing home 3 goals for their 4th straight win in all competitions.

Simp Good month and an impressive lead at the top of the league! 30m for Iturraspe is impressive considering he's a bench player for you and Dave will be a more than capable replacement. Keep it up.

Simp Good month and an impressive lead at the top of the league! 30m for Iturraspe is impressive considering he's a bench player for you and Dave will be a more than capable replacement. Keep it up.
