To be fair we've come a long way since then. I mean look at the size of that football, the year they fixed it they didn't say "made the football smaller but now we can't have gloves"

I get that it's a bigger issue with messing up the face scan more than anything else but does that mean we'll never have mouth guards

How does the art team from other sports title have all of these scanned equipment, make them editable for individual players while still updating them through out the season and this game is struggling with basic accessories stuff, sigh frustrating

Again it doesn't mess up the face scan, its because our mouths move and talk, we just have to invest time into making mouthpieces work and look great at the same time.

            Preach!
What jumps at me the most if the difference in the uniform colors. Just look nothing alike.. You can say "probably different times of the day" all you want but I find it hard to believe those are the same colors by looking at that photo vs that screen, both are daytime games at GB
EDIT: Also as I've said many times, look at the difference in sleeve length... Somehow we're still working with 70's style sleeves hope this is one of the nuggets added as far as equipment in the presentation blog

Basically he's saying it will be in Madden 18

I hope you're kidding, because that's way beside the point.

                EDIT: Don't forget this though:

^^^ Madden always looked a generation behind its competitor graphically. Also note the Rams player (#35) wearing a... *GASP*... MOUTHPIECE!

P.S. You gotta admit, that still looks hot even to this day. What an amazing dev team the 2K Football Team was. They pulled off some things we'll probably never see again in our lifetime :-(

I was going by Clint's tweet. He said it doesn't work well with the head scanning tech. His words.

As for priority, if you can go 12 cycles without an essential equipment piece being made a priority, then your priorities need some retooling. After that many years, that's no longer a plausible excuse. It stopped being plausible 9 cycles ago at least.

That's exactly the point. I like that they're at least telling us what the problem is, but hopefully they can understand why when we hear it we get frustrated because it illustrates how there are holes in how they approach things. I bet we can all think of tons of things nobody asked for that they put tons of work into over the years, but what if that time and resource had gone into mouthpieces or something else we've been asking for for 12 years? I think that's what's most frustrating.

That being said, the fact that they are finally working on equipment is a good thing so maybe it will continue. But to be honest it SHOULD continue; this is a football game and football things shouldn't be neglected in the first place.

Chin pads and mouthpieces are two key pieces of equipment that can truly differentiate a player (really needed with generic rookies). Both unfortunately have no options, set at defaults. There is a huge difference in the chin pad Arron Rodgers wears and the one Joe a Flacco wears.

Yeesh, crazy we are STILL comparing a game in 2016 to one back in 2005. Tiered play calling, weekly game planning etc

I was thinking the same thing, its like we have no room to have innovative minds because we are still asking for things that were in the game a decade ago, I thought by now we would see things like jersey distortion like jerseys getting stuck under shoulder pads, weather where its not raining or snowing the entire game, field degradation just to name a few, but here we are talking about things like equipment finally being correct in the game.

This is what can happen when there is no competition. We all know none of this would be happening if there had been competition all this time, since when we had competition we had most of these things. Can you imagine complaining about mouthpieces and weather options back then? Would've been unheard of because we just got those things without having to ask for it.

                          What a shame.

Hyperbole much? It's a mouthpiece. It is in no way essential to the game and you are kidding yourself if you suggest otherwise. Rather it's a cosmetic option, not unlike a hat in Team Fortress.

Also the "no competition" / tired comparisons line of posting stops now. Thanks.

It seems like a small thing, but think about how complicated a problem it must be to create a mouth guard that essentially is governed by physics, moving and shifting with the player's mouths. It'd have to be able to fall out and hang, be put back in, etc, otherwise it would look weirdly pasted on.

So, in addition to everything else the game is rendering, there's this essentially live physics piece that has to be able to exist in 22 independent iterations in order to ensure that it will work in the extreme case where every player on the field has one.

Oh, and it's something ~5% of the playerbase will notice or appreciate.

So yeah, I wouldn't hold your breath.

This is a line of thinking I can never understand. We have devs saying they want to make the most realistic sim game possible, then when it comes to looking realistic and players wearing what you see on Sunday's we get "well that's not important bc only X amount of people care"

Edit: I know mrprice isn't a dev but he's spent over 40 hours playing the game and interacting with them so I assume he has more insight into the way they think than I do
