I don't see how I'll ever be able to get Trout, Harper etc

Short of spending a lot if real money, how are people getting these diamond cards? I have terrible luck with packs so the only way I could ever get an expensive player like Trout would be to play the market for a long time but between feeding players and commanding teams and grinding innings, not to mention frachise, I don't have the time. Are you just spending real money to get guys like Trout and Harper?

I have spent real money, but i have also flipped to make well over 1 mill stubs. I have both of these players but i flip all the time. I am always setting orders. I do it when im at work. I check on them maybe every 30 minutes and quickly redo them if they havent been completed. Yesterday was a good day for the middle of the week and i was able to go from 58k to 78k

I imagine for most gamers it might take about a couple weeks of playing the marketplace to earn enough to put in a buy order for these players.

I always spend money when the game first releases so I can get myself off to a decent start. From there it's a grind. Both Harper and Trout came in standard packs when it was really late at night for me, FWIW. Happened about a week apart, first two weeks of May...Harper came in a pack I opened online just because I was in the middle of a game, and I got my Trout after I blew a lead in a BR game and wanted to sooth myself blowing stubs on a 20 pack lol.

i flip golds and diamonds in the 10-20k range mostly and sometimes up to 30k. I try and earn 100k every 5-7 days

If you don't mind sharing when you are selling how do you respond if someone undercuts you? Do you stand pat and wait it out?

I am not going to say the exact players but it is usually the same 10 or so guys. If someone under cuts me by a lot i wait it out and make sure i have the second lowest sell order. If i think the player is going to drop a lot fast i will sometimes take a loss.

Also i buy and sell constantly. I rarely hold onto players

I got lucky enough to pull a Trout. I sold it for 109, was able to get him back on a 90k buy now. I did this 8 or 9 times making anywhere from 2000-4500 profit each time & bought $20 worth of stubs and was able to scraped together enough to buy an arrietta on a buy now bid. I then flipped Arrietta a few times to build enough to help me with some relief pitchers. You can make 3-4k per flip on diamonds if you are patient and look for guys with a decent margin. Flashbacks are another good way to flip for profits, but since there are fewer on the market, it takes quite a bit longer. My biggest flip profit was on a flashback McCann. Made 12k on him after tax.

I just played a team who in their 9th game with a record of 3-6 had a full diamond team with Barry bonds & Matt kemp.

They have literally just bought every player the second they've opened the game. He hit on directional and just timed X with the fastball all game.

I don't know why you would want to do this. The season is long, enjoy the grind of playing your way to the great players, this guy will be bored by June.

I don't have the time to grind through and collect all the teams and get their rewards. So I've put a decent amount of real money into it, I'd say probably $60-70.

I don't know what all the fuss is about ppl buying players though

I buy two games a year, football and baseball. And Basketball every other year, thats it. So to spend some extra money on players that i like to play with online doesn't bother me since i dont buy like 5 or 6 games a year at $60 a pop. I think the people that fuss over it, is people that dont want to spend the money. I don't bother buying packs anymore its just a waste. Learned that last year. Ill buy the stubs to buy the guys i want. Im at $100 bucks this year. May go in another $50 by the end of the year but that's it. I enjoy playing with my team even though im not to good. Id be dreadful with awful guys lol.
