Re: #patchspoilers 1.07
That would essentially involve re-tuning the stand up game from scratch 3 months into its release, and a month and a half away from a competitive $10,000 cash tournament that's already under way.
Do you think that's a good idea?
This game is incredibly well balanced.
I've seen the numbers.
The skill gap on the LEC was fantastic. No evidence of exploits at all.
You couldn't draw a better spread by hand.
There are a lot of people who don't think we should be touching anything.
No way we're re-designing the damage system at this point.Comment

Re: #patchspoilers 1.07
The number of people who read these forums is a small minority compared to the consumer base of this game.
I personally believe that the small, hard core community has a louder voice than their numbers would suggest. And I also believe they have insight that would benefit the masses, without the masses even realizing it. And that's why I'm here, listening to the feedback and acting on what I can.
But not everyone shares my view. The devs who post on the forums do. The devs who read the forums but don't post do.
You guys have to argue and persuade us to make changes, and we have to argue and persuade others to do the same.Comment

Re: #patchspoilers 1.07
Your view of what kind of influence game changers have is way, way off from the reality.
You think you just type in our private slack chat that you want to talk to Andrew Wilson immediately and he'll pop on and listen to your problems with the combo multiplier?
The effectiveness of a game changer doing that is exactly as effective as you attempting to do it on this forum.
On a side note , can I pretty please get a generic list will all reversals and subs reversals available? Not individual fighters, just a basic list of every move.
I've been going through roster documenting what fighters have what reversals and what not in hopes of posting it and helping the non expert community.Comment

Re: #patchspoilers 1.07
Please don't take it the wrong, as I might have admitted in the past its speculation. I honestly thought the gamechangers traveling to Canada was a big deal and help for you. I've been on a lot of very effective Tiger Teams in the past and I wrongly assumed the gamechangers program was something like a Tiger Team.

It was a big deal, and it was incredibly helpful.
But they don't dictate anything, we are using them as a tool to better the game.
It's something we have at our disposal that we try and leverage to the maximum effect.
It's not something imposed on us that we are forced to react to verbatim.
I'll look into getting a reversal list together.Comment

Re: #patchspoilers 1.07
I cant speak for the devs but in my opinion, removing the modifier would be a pretty big change to the striking meta and maybe the devs are hesitant to make a change like that through patches. Especially when that change will affect how everyone (not just the people on the forums) plays the game.
I actually agree that the modifier should be removed but I also recognize that the forums represent maybe 1% of the people that own the game. I also recognize that maybe 100 (200?) people are on the forums and redditt complaining about the modifier and about 1 million people bought the game. So I would be hesitant to make a change that drastic without proper testing.
Also, assuming that EA will make significant changes to striking in UFC 3 like they did with grappling (just an assumption), I'd be hesitant to make those changes.
Just my two cents.Comment

Re: #patchspoilers 1.07
Wikipedia definition, but it's an old definition, still means basically the same thing
"A tiger team is a group of experts assigned to investigate and/or solve technical or systemic problems. A 1964 paper defined the term as "a team of undomesticated and uninhibited technical specialists, selected for their experience, energy, and imagination, and assigned to track down relentlessly every possible source of failure in a spacecraft subsystem"Comment
