Best way to play franchise
Hey guys. I have seen topics like this before but I am hoping to get something a little more tailored to me. I love franchise mode but definitely don't have time to finish a season let alone a few seasons. I would sim some games but I hate not having control over my games or portions of my games. I used quick counts a few years back but found too many walks for my pitchers and too many strikeouts for my hitters. Has this been adjusted a little more? What are some suggestions? Anything would be a big help, thanks guys!

Find your favorite SP on whatever team you choose to play with then only play games on his day to pitch.

Re: Best way to play franchise
I have a system to determine which games I play and which I sim. For division opponents, I play 2 home games and 2 road games per year. Not back to back though, so I try to spread them out through the season. For example I play 1 game during the first home series of the season and 1 during the last home series. For all other teams, I play 1 home game and 1 road game for the year.

Re: Best way to play franchise
I just started this the other day where I would pick 1 or 2 series a month and I would pick one game in the series to play the full game, use quick counts for another, and do a player lock with one of my players in the last game. It's been a lot of fun so far and it's different so I love it!Comment

Re: Best way to play franchise
I'm about to start a new franchise. My plan is to fully play one pictures starts thru the season. Then, fast forward other pitchers starts but still bat and pitch the late innings/relievers. My hope is that this will give me some control over changing the starter but a quicker game time.

Re: Best way to play franchise
Play 1, Sim 5. That way you're pitching with a new starter every 6 games.

Re: Best way to play franchise
I usually play one game from each series if I have time. If it's a divisional opponent, I might play multiple games or even the complete series. If it's an opponent that interests me, I might play more than one game in the series. If it's an opponent that doesn't interest me at all, I might skip the series. If one of my starters has lost a few in a row, I might play his next game and try to stop the skid.Comment

Yeah I play 1 game a series. It's usually the first one, but sometimes I play game 2 or 3 if a major player returns from injury or a new call up happens.Comment
