Will we see the RPO (run/pass option types of plays) in Madden 17?

I personally love spread option plays in madden (miss them dearly in NCAA) But they don't fully have the flexibility they should have in madden. Will we have these types of plays in madden or maybe even the return of a play editor!

Clint mentioned on twitter a week or so ago that they're still figuring out how to implement these in a way that won't cause a ton of penalties for the user on offense with illegal man downfield, OPI, etc. I've been beating this drum for a solid year, so maybe next year.

Do they want to implement the "packaged play" concept that's become popular since the read option and bubble screen have become more prominent?

They have some in there now, and I think the goal is to continue to expand on it. It's something I want to focus on feedback wise for 18.

I remember vividly however a few years back that NCAA allowed for these types of plays where you could hand it off on a play action pass

They did it on some option plays, yes

I feel like you can do this on the 'Jet Sweep' pass from Wildcat, maybe in the Empty as well. I know there are run plays with pass play, play art but I dunno how many if any are available.

It looks like quick reply is fixed in chrome, yay!

What I would like to see to start is the ability to hold X/A on the PA read plays and some of the pop plays (that are designed passes) to hand the ball off to the running back.

I'm pretty sure that's exactly how it was in NCAA a few years back. I remember vividly realizing that on some of the option passes and the PA reads you could still hand the ball off. THe bad thing was you would get a ton of yards every time so i hardly did it cause it was cheese.

That might part of the issue and why those options were taken out/not brought over to Madden. We've (meaning the community groups and devs) have had a lot of conversations about how to best update offensive playbooks, so it's a problem they are working on solutions for.

Yeah I remember a while back. Might have been Donny Moore but big changes like this and changing something small effects everything else on the field. I would love to see this hit Madden. The more realism the better. Just hope they get penalties/sliders stock fixed first. The money maker in Madden is MUT so realism sometimes doesn't hit the top of the list sadly.

I'd like to see these as well, but it is not as simple as adding plays to the playbook. It would take new lines of code in the defensive AI.

But running a packaged read option/bubble screen/streak would be pretty sweet. High possibility of online exploits and rage though.

I loved these types of plays in NCAA......the more the better
