re: New Zone Coverage Improvements Video - No Fly Zone
Can't see much but defenders clearly aren't spot covering any more thank god -
re: New Zone Coverage Improvements Video - No Fly Zone
I liked that I didn't see any skating or gliding in the secondary on defense. Seems like defenders covered too much ground too quickly before, so they made them react slower, or atleast that's how it appeared to me. Secondary animations still really need to be improved/done over.
Nothing bad that I noticed in this short clip.http://twitter.com/sageinfinite

I agree it's nice to see the defender tracking ball and I'm looking forward to seeing pattern matching and other zone upgrades in action at EA play.
This video also shows a glimpse of the need for more contextual, transitional animations and overall player movement. For example, the "become a defender" animation for intended receivers would have been ideal in this clip, rather than Amendola going into a catch animation. With all the talk of dropped INTs to balance stats, the ability for intended receivers to become defenders would naturally help that.Comment

oh yeah i agree. Amendola is still acting as if he is getting the ball while it is being intercepted. Thats the next hurdle for them.. to develop responsive AI for WR's to become defenders like you saidI agree it's nice to see the defender tracking ball and I'm looking forward to seeing pattern matching and other zone upgrades in action at EA play.

I slowed it down from the point the text disappeared until just before the EA logo popped up.

Thanks for the slo-mo gif DD, it reminded me to add it's nice to see the LB fall down after the off balanced INT. That was a peeve I harped on alot, how players making off balance catches/INT would so often land on their feet like cats. Looking forward to seeing more of this throughout game play on both sides of the ball.Comment

If anybody wonders how far they go to create these one-off clips, you can see at the beginning of this one the banner dropping down from the ticker shows that there have been 22 turnovers already.Comment

re: New Zone Coverage Improvements Video - No Fly Zone
Just nitpicky things, when the camera switches to behind the defense you see number 69 for the pats has his back to the LOS a big no no for linemen. Wish there was AI to tell Amendola " oh snap gotta play some defense". Hard to tell but it looks like Blount is just standing next to a guard engaging with a defensive tackle wish he would at least put a hand on the defensive linemen or "post".
Defensively it looks good but we need raw footage to really break down can't wait for EA playComment

re: New Zone Coverage Improvements Video - No Fly Zone
One thing I noticed is how tight the ball looked in his hands as he fell as well. It looked like he was really holding onto it. I don't know if that has to do with the new ball physics or not but there has always been that space between the ball and hands and that was one detail that stuck out to me in the second cinematic shot. Thanks for the slo-mo gif DD, it reminded me to add it's nice to see the LB fall down after the off balanced INT. LG looked a bit goofy, but other than that, looked pretty good. I like how the RT pushed the DE out.Comment

re: New Zone Coverage Improvements Video - No Fly Zone
Or it's bc defenders can actually catch the easy ones now lol
Edit: it's actually a big fear of mine that the game will release and defense will be competent, but the community will complain that it's too hard and defense will be nerfed like when they re did zones in NCAA one year.Comment
