Would you want penalties like pass interference for online games in Madden 17?

I voted yes. IMO online should be the exact same representation of the game that they'd want to portray offline. At least for the base online experience that is. They could make a separate eSports type playlist where games are played on a customized ruleset with no penalties/whatever else is decided to be BS type thing and leave the options there for people to play private games like that if they so choose but I think the basic online experience should work more or less the same as the game is intended to function offline with penalties, fumbles, interceptions, etc.

I don't really see how this could even be a question. If you want simulation football which I believe the developers now do, they'd never turn penalties off in online games. I could be wrong.

We need all Penalties active for online play Ranked and Non Ranked. This was a Big issue for me Last Year no P.I. no grounding, no holding




its suppose to simulate the game that we see on Sundays and that include Rules/Penalties as well rather its online or offline.

The problem is that this poll will never accumulate enough votes to sway the developers.

What is considered a lot for a poll on this site is not even a drop in the bucket compared to the Madden gamer base.

I didn't spend much time playing M16 and don't actually think I played any online period, for the first time since M06 but you're saying certain penalties were turned off in M16 online ranked? Just wow.

I didn't even vote because I reject the premise,"online" is just virtual couch co-op using the internet, no one expects penalties off by default when playing a game in the same room with a friend, the option to do so, sure, same thing should apply here.

Like BleedingRed21 stated, I don't see how this is even a question. Serious question, why do these type odd "debates" seem to only come up in reference to Madden?

Edit: Wanted to add, I have been mainly an online gamer since M06, a competitive gamer for money from M07-M13 and in online franchises since their inception, yet I have no idea where this notion that this is the way gamers like myself prefer to play. Those with this type POV have nothing to do with "online", they're just the type gamer that prefers a more arcade based experience, period. Same thing with players that prefer more realism or whatever else, plenty of them play "online" too. It's odd to see online used as some classification of gamer or justification for particular game play parameters.

I think yes has already been said enough but my only problem with online is the cheese. If they fix small things like blocking user blitz exploits and speed differential to cease safeties covering the entire field, I'd actually play more online 1v1. Same goes for Online franchise, but the blog hasn't dropped so IDK.

Penalties should be on in all modes with options to turn them off. Just my opinion....

Remember that show Madden Nation with those stinky losers that rode around in a bus playing Madden. Those clowns would hate seeing a penalty. I remember watching the finals of that show and a guy kicks a FG as time ran out so he could win by 10 and rub it in the others guy face.

At that moment, I realized why Madden was dead to me. No chance of getting a block and returning it for a TD.

People like that are everywhere and they don't care about realism.

Hopefully Madden 17 has all the penalties, fumbles, and dynamic special team play of the NFL.

Concerning the bolded part, uh, yeah they do, by the millions. Sorry, you and you competitive gaming brethren who played in online franchises were and still are in the vast minority. Online or offline, penalties are in the "do not want" category for most Madden gamers. For many it isn't a yes or no question when it comes to realism. It's realism, up to a point.
