I haven't yet because I'm in the UK. The largest video game chain doesn't even have it listed on their "coming games" page yet

Last year the store staff had to have a huddle to work out what game I was asking to reserve!

Scarcity of UK copies. My local store might get a couple of copies, might get none! The NFL may be becoming more established in the UK, but Madden still lacks a solid foothold.

Pre-ordering video games these days is something you really only should do for two reasons:

1 - the game in question has a collector's edition you really want (ex. it comes with a statue or something that you decide you want)
2 - you want guaranteed access at midnight on launch day using a digital pre-order from the PS4 / XBOX One storefront

Not really much reason to pre-order any video game otherwise, the days of scarcity of a game at launch (in the United States, anyway) are long gone.

For Madden specifically, 1 doesn't apply AFAIK, but 2 obviously does. A third reason unique to Madden is if you play a lot of Ultimate Team, EA Sports typically bundles the pre-order with a bunch of MUT bonuses.

Hopefully that helps some of you.

I was going to wait until Franchise info was released but after hearing all the improvements they made to gameplay I decided to pre-order it.

While there is no real practical reason to, I pre order games as a sign of support. Last year I purchased two copies (one for me, one for my little brother) of NBA 2k after the MyLeague blog dropped just because I was so excited and really appreciated where they were going. I have pre ordered Madden 17 for a similar reason. Even though I was gonna buy it on release day anyway.

Ill definitely pre-order it at some point but with 3 months still to go Ill wait till we get a bit closer. Id like to say its because im waiting for more info but ill buy it either way lol

I buy games digitally now. There will be an option to pre-load it a couple days off, so when release date rolls around you don't have to sit around for 12 hours. But pre-order from like GameStop? Nah.

I don't see in any reason to pre-order, I buy all my games digital, plus I don't play MUT so I don't care about MUT cards. Does anyone know if the Amazon Prime deal includes digital games? If so I may start to pre-order some games.

I'll be pre-ordering from Amazon if I decide to buy the game, which I probably will. My reasons are that they offer a 20% discount plus release-day delivery.
