Re: Madden NFL 17's Franchise Mode Now Features 'Big Decisions'
I'm sure you are aware of the developers bringing up about priorities, timing and resources too.How is this shadow minded? I stated clearly that most of this is simply rebranded under a new menu. The only true new feature under "big decisions" is setting your own season goal. Everything else was just streamlined. I'm not belittling any actual additions. Simply expected more for what they called huge improvements.

Peter Moore stated today it was the greatest improvements to franchise mode in 4 years, and technically, he could be correct in that statement. There will be some people that will agree with him, some people that will feel it's somewhere in the middle(me) and some people will completely disagree with that statement.
One person's junk is another person's art.
Not everyone will be happy with all the improvments Madden has made on paper, including gameplay. I'm not a user of roster editing and I'm not sure yet on Big Decisions, but I know full customization has been the #1 request to put back in from their customer base.
If everything works out in late August with game play, presentation and CFM as it appears now, we could have a darn good NFL video football game.
At least this shows us the developers have been listening and communicating to their customers, even though some of the customers don't have what they personally want.
Where the heck is the upgrade to the challenge system? Time to start another drumbeat like I did for DPI.Comment

It's definitely the greatest improvement in their last 4 years but sadly that's only because they have done a whole lot of nothing in that time frame.I'm sure you are aware of the developers bringing up about priorities, timing and resources too.

I wouldn't say "nothing" but you're about half correct in that statement. Still, they haven't deceived us or anything and have delivered on what they promised.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 17's Franchise Mode Now Features 'Big Decisions'
The entire feature is based around bringing things that already existed more into the user's view and assisting the user in those decisions, so I don't think the AI would be all that affected by it - it's still going to do whatever it sees as best for its team. The only functionally "new" things might be setting a season goal and the choice of whether to play an injured player - two choices we didn't have last year.Comment

It would be cool if you're playing the CPU and they brought back their WR early because they were falling out of the playoff race and the commentary mentioned him playing even though he's still injured. The entire feature is based around bringing things that already existed more into the user's view and assisting the user in those decisions, so I don't think the AI would be all that affected by it - it's still going to do whatever it sees as best for its team. Really? It says we can edit all player attributes. That's huge, in addition to sliders we can hone the game (for example if draftee traits make no sense for game play long term) more than before. That helps.Comment

Commentary will mention players that return early from injury, it's in the blog.

I hope this is the case too. That's one of the things that gets lost in the shuffle with these things. The blog does mention that your players specifically will be talked about but doesn't allude to any of the same mentions to the CPU's players.Comment

I was talking about if the CPU can also bring people back early. It would be nice to hear that from the team you're facing.Comment
