On topic though, I am excited for any additions to Be a GM and I love the idea of having to handle more of the financials in the mode. As a Financial Services degree seeker it is right up my ally. The 100 point sliders should be pretty good too!

It is funny that I got a warning for trolling a couple weeks ago and this guy pretty much did the same thing.

Focusing on a custom arena is so lazy and honestly means nothing to the actual gameplay. For one you hardly see the actual arena when you play and it's in the it's just ice. So you can color the seats or choose from a preset number of scoreboard options. Meanwhile we've still yet to see an online league NHL on PS4/XB1. The World Teams Play is literally a roster update.
The only "meaningful" online 1 vs 1 game mode is ranked which after a while loses it's luster when you are just facing the same teams over and over. How can a old gen game have more game options than a game 3 years in???

I hope one day we will get the chip n chase that is in real hockey, especially in the playoffs.
Teams rarely just dump it in anymore, except on line changes.
If they could modify the dump button or the saucer pass and have the cpu aware of how to get in your way it would greatly help with making the game more sim.Comment

The improved defensive coverage around the net along with updated goalies could be the biggest gameplay contribution in a while.
I'm assuming the authentic international jerseys only apply to the World Cup teams. No IIHF versions.
That's fine though, a definite improvement.Comment

One thing that bugs me, why hasn't Sony and Xbox allowed file sharing like they did on the 360 and PS3?Comment

A defensive skill-stick would be nice, but if you add that, then you must be able to program dynamic offensive AI for the CPU.
I'm already nervous about the stick tie-up's. I love being able to mark a guy in front, but will this basically stymie any and all of the CPU's players?
Will the CPU be given cheats in order to compensate for these new defensive moves?
That's one of the biggest gripes I have with the NHL series. The CPU is just plain dumb forcing the programmers to give them cheats and the ability to do things you can't.
I hope that's been fixed in NHL 17.Comment

Re: NHL 17 Q&A - Skating Improvements, Crease Battles, EASHL, Creation Zone & Much Mo
I wonder if that's the case too.Originally posted by spidertour02I assume that if you can't use a created team in Franchise, it's because of AHL and ECHL affiliates. They may have some kind of system for changing affiliates in the game to more geographically-appropriate ones. (For example, moving the Arizona Coyotes to Hamilton could automatically move your AHL team from Tucson to, say, Kitchener.) That would have to be fixed to the relocation cities.
If it is, you would think the easy solution is to simply keep the affiliates regardless of where the parent club relocates too.
At least they gave us 15 cities to choose from.
I'm going to laugh if Hamilton isn't one of them. If it's not, then you know it's because the NHL wanted to screw Ballsillie again.
You just know he's got NHL17 on pre-order and can't wait to move the 'Yotes, haha.Comment

I believe in the trailer they released a couple weeks ago Hamilton was actually shown as one of the options.I wonder if that's the case too.

You just know the NHL didn't want this sort of mode in (it took forever to get actual money salaries), but EA was like the NBA and NFL let it in their games and it's killing it with the customers.Comment

If it has no incidental contact and five players hug I will pass on this game. Hope the skating feels fuild. I truly hope they have. Full stick on stick contact. It will take away a lot of goals but it will be more real.Comment

Hey if you guys want some more information on the game, go to here.
This forum really doesn't have much information lately, which is disappointing. The EA forums have much more feedback/discussion.Comment

I hope that is not the case on having to relocate after a year and mess with that. I just want to be able to replace teams with my created teams.Create a team vs. relocation. Obviously the relocation only has 15 cities, and he said for Franchise mode. Is everyone thinking that means our created team, can't be played in franchise, but that we'll have to relocate? I was looking forward to creating a new team, sub them out for a crappy, existing team, and play that way.
It needs to be like MyLeague in NBA 2K16 where you can upload images and then replace teams in the League. (One thing 2K16 needed was though to be able to create your team before starting your Franchise and being able to use your logo/jerseys/stadium instead of having to create all of that after you start and re-doing it if you want to start over.
- Also, they need to have it where you can edit draft classes.
I am trying to decide on if I want to get NHL or Madden this year and was leaning towards NHL, but that could get me to change my mind.Comment

Not too sure about the whole relocation thing.
Obviously they wanted to add some form of reality to the process but is that what we really want?
I mean, let's say I want Florida out and Hartford in.
That'll mean I have to not only play with Florida for a while (how long?) but I also might end up with a screen like this.
I'm not even allowed to talk to the peeps in Hartford.
Well that's great...guess I'll just keep up with Florida for a few more years, that'll be fun, right?!Comment

It's a real shame. I love this series, but for more information such as developer interaction and GameChangers' feedback, the EA boards as immature as some of the responses are, is the place to goOriginally posted by spidertour02Of course it does. The haters on this board have effectively chased away anybody that likes the game and wants to talk about it. I suspect that most of us just enjoy the game quietly and rarely appear on the boards anymore.Comment

If people leave because they like/dislike a game and can't discuss it like adults, that's on them.Originally posted by spidertour02Of course it does. To say that there's too much negativity around should be a reflection more so on EA's product than the posters.
As someone that's been around and talking about this game for a long time, it wasn't always this depressing. The online banter matches the game quite well. We're stuck constantly rehashing and debating the same old things, because EA constantly adds nothing of real value, while leaving glaring issues in the game.
I used to defend the franchise strongly, but even I've grown tired of the way EA has treated their product.Comment
