Thanks man...I had to do a double-take when I saw just how few completions he had. I knew with all the long gains, his YPC was high, but wow...he threw for over 300 yards on the first 5 touchdowns alone!

Sadly, the way things are shaping up, it appears we are going to be left out of the title picture. The game seems to have given Oregon incredible weight for their big win versus UCLA, and it appears both Central Michigan (wow) and West Virginia are going to finish unbeaten.

I'm just going to continue to focus on handling my own business and we'll see where the chips fall afterwards. Southern Miss looks pretty good on paper, as you'll see in a couple of days when I post the preview. We cannot afford to overlook them.

Thanks as always for the replies!

I do actually try to, depending on what I have going on "in real life."

I generally get to play only one game a week, and I try to fit it in on Saturday if I have time or at the latest, Sunday morning. The rest of the week, I usually get about a half hour to myself in the mornings before work during the week and I do other stuff - recruit, practice mode, equipment editing, my write-up for the game previews, etc.

For Thursday games, I actually do try to fit those games in on Thursday night, just to throw myself off from my normal routine in an effort to simulate a true "short week." Unfortunately that wasn't doable for this last Thursday game versus Ole Miss because I was busy Thursday (and Friday & Saturday also, for that matter).

Yeah no doubt about it man. The days of being single and no kids, with hardly anything to do but play 3-4 games a week are long gone; that's for sure.]

I find this pacing better though. It prevents me getting too used to the game and things getting repetitive. I feel like I can play for YEARS at this pace.

It's all about just finding the right team to build up, the right pacing so things won't get repetitive, and I also find it important to get that "signature player" early on in the dynasty, like I was lucky enough to get with RB Reggie Moore and QB Jamie Manning, and of course later, WR Ryan Jean.

Not rushing and burning yourself out is also key. And for me personally, playing with a team from my hometown that I know has been terrible forever has been key as well. It has been very fun recruiting in areas/cities I have heard of - it helps with the imagination factor.

Game 12, Year 12 Preview (2021 season): #4 Tulane at #20 Southern Miss

                        GAME 12 PREVIEW

                        Courtesy

RIVALRY GAME: THE BATTLE FOR THE BELL

2020: Tulane's offensive scoring binge began when QB Jimmy Williams hit WR Derrick Lindsey deep down the left sideline and the redshirt sophomore spun past not one, but two defenders on his way to a 61-yard touchdown which tied the game at 7-7 in the second quarter.

Last Meeting: After falling behind 14-7 early, #19 ranked Tulane went on to score 45 unanswered points en route to defeating arch rival Southern Miss 45-14 last season at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Former Wave QB Jimmy Williams threw for 338 yards and 3 touchdowns while then-sophomore WR Derrick Lindsey caught 6 receptions for 214 yards and a touchdown, on what was his best day ever as a member of the Green Wave. Star CB Nate Hall also had a game for the ages, notching 10 tackles while also registering two interceptions returned for touchdowns as his team avenged the previous year's loss to their former Conference USA foes.

2019: Southern Miss LB Anthony Muhammad picked off former Wave QB Preston Fields' screen pass attempt to RB B.J. Johnson and returned it 27 yards for the game-winning touchdown, making the score 42-35 with just 0:47 remaining.

Last Meeting at Venue: Two seasons ago in rain-soaked Hattiesburg, Southern Miss erased a 24-14 second half deficit and got a game-winning pick-six from LB Anthony Muhammad with under a minute remaining to defeat then-#7 ranked Tulane 42-35 in their annual "Battle for the Bell" rivalry game. Despite a 454 yard 4-touchdown performance from former Wave QB Preston Fields and a 9 reception 262 yard 3 touchdown performance from then-true freshman WR Ryan Jean, the Wave faltered in the end, losing to their former Conference USA rivals for the first time since 2010. After being the #1 ranked team in the country all year long and starting the season 9-0, the loss was the Green Wave's second in their final three regular season games of that year.
